Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. It's a rainy afternoon. The craft things are out on the table, and the children can't wait to get started. A wooden snail is just right for this. The funny silhouette with its drawn-on face is ready to be painted, decorated or covered in stickers. An empty windowsill turns into a little snail parade. And a grey afternoon becomes a project you do together.
What changes for you
- You can start right away, with no sanding or sawing. The wooden snail is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- You design it just the way you like. The plywood is untreated. You can paint it, glue things onto it, varnish it or oil it.
- You'll find the right size for every project. Choose any width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- Crafting with a group of children stays relaxed. The snail also comes in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your snail looks friendly even before it's painted. The outline and face are laser-scored. The brown laser edge frames the shape.
Why this wooden snail makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made craft blanks take care of the tedious part. You keep the fun part: the designing. Use the snail for crafting with children, as a spring window decoration or as a small gift. It brings a friendly motif into your home straight away. You don't need tools or templates. That leaves more time for colours, ideas and time together at the table.
Material & finish
The snail is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That's where the smooth edges come from. It's also why it has the typical brown edge that outlines the shape. The top shows the drawn face. The back is left natural. The wood is untreated, with no varnish or glaze. That's why paint and glue stick well. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out slightly different. Some are lighter, some darker. Some have small knots or slight irregularities in the grain. This makes every snail one of a kind. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden snail
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own snail. In the end, a colourful snail family sits on the shelf, and everyone is proud of it.
- As spring or garden decoration in the window: arrange a few snails in different sizes, and the view outside gets a playful touch.
- For the children's room: add a name, and the snail becomes a door sign. You order it in exactly the size you need.
- At nursery, school or a children's birthday party: with a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100, the whole group has the same motif. And you don't have to saw them out by hand.
- In a farm shop or at the market: a painted wooden snail on the counter turns a price tag into a small motif that makes customers smile.
Good to know about snails
The snail has long stood for calm and composure. It carries its home with it and is never in a hurry. That's why the motif suits children's rooms, garden and spring decorations so well. It's also a small reminder to take things a little slower in everyday life.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Kept dry, the untreated plywood holds its shape and colour for a long time. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to display the snail outdoors, paint or oil it first for extra protection.

Frequently asked questions
Is the wood treated? No, the plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed – you can paint, decorate, coat or oil it straight away.
Are both sides the same? No. The top has the face drawn with laser-scored lines. The back is left natural.
Why don't all the snails look the same? Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. Every snail is one of a kind.
Where does the brown edge come from? It's created during laser cutting and is part of the cut. In return, the edges are smooth and you don't need to sand anything.
Which size suits my project? As a guide: at 10 cm wide, the snail is also 10 cm high. So you can choose exactly the size you need from 5 to 50 cm.
What counts is the moment the freshly painted snail dries on the windowsill. And a child says proudly: "I made that." Just choose your size and quantity – and get started.
