The first rays of sunshine. The craft table is set with paints and brushes. And the children are already waiting for a shape they can decorate themselves. This wooden snail is made for exactly that. It is a clear snail silhouette with a shell, cut from plywood and based on the shape of a Roman snail. You choose the size that suits your idea. And the plain cutout becomes your very own piece of spring decoration.

What changes for you

  • You can start straight away without any preparation. The wood is untreated, so you can paint, decorate, coat or oil it directly.
  • Your shape looks neat even close up. The laser-cut edges are smooth. They have the typical brown edge that gives the silhouette a fine outline.
  • You'll find the right size for every idea. Choose from 3 cm for table scatter and gift tags up to 50 cm for windows, walls or shop windows. Sizes come in 1 cm steps.
  • Crafting with children stays relaxed. The shape is easy to recognise. Small hands with a brush and glue get a sense of achievement quickly.
  • You can plan bigger projects without reordering. The snail is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.

Why this wooden snail makes a difference in everyday life

Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden blank only becomes something of your own through your hands. You paint it in your colours and match it to your home or the season. On the window, on the table or in the children's room, you get a decoration with a little story behind it. Maybe it's your crafting session together. Or your quiet afternoon with a brush.

Material & finish

The snail is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives a clean finish and smooth edges that need no extra sanding. The wood is left natural. It is not varnished or glazed. It takes paint, glue and oil well. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out slightly different. Some are lighter, some darker. Some show fine structures in the grain or small knots. This is not a flaw. It makes every wooden snail one of a kind. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden snail

  • Crafting with children: Each child paints their own snail. In the end, a colourful snail parade moves across the windowsill.
  • For spring decoration: Scatter a few small snails between flowerpots and herbs. Your table already tells of the garden.
  • As a gift tag: Write a name on a mini snail and attach it to the parcel. Your little gift looks lovingly prepared with hardly any effort.
  • At nursery or primary school: With sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, the whole group gets the same shape. And you don't have to cut anything out yourself.
  • In a shop or farm café: A large snail up to 50 cm wide draws attention in the shop window or on the counter. Write an offer or a greeting on it.

Good to know about snails

The snail always carries its home with it. That's why it has long been a symbol of security, calm and one's own home. This makes it a good motif for garden and spring decoration and for children's rooms. It also works as a little message for someone moving into a new home.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Stored dry, the untreated plywood keeps its natural look for a long time. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the snail outdoors, paint or oil it first. This gives the surface extra protection.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the wooden snail straight away? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint, decorate, varnish or oil it without any preparation.

Why does the snail have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It gives the shape a clean, clearly drawn outline.

Do all snails look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it can be lighter or darker. It may show small knots or structures in the grain. Every piece is one of a kind.

How big is the snail at a given width? For reference: at 10 cm wide, the height is 7.5 cm. The other sizes scale accordingly.

A plywood cutout is only the start. What counts is the afternoon when a plain piece of wood becomes your own little snail family. Simply choose the size and quantity that suit your idea.
