Why this wooden pig makes a difference every day
A wooden pig feels different from printed cardboard. You can paint, decorate and write on the surface without it warping or tearing. You hold real material in your hands. It feels good and takes any design, from colourful children's projects to understated natural decorations. And because you choose the size, the shape fits exactly where you need it: on a gift, in the window or on the wall.
Material & finish
The pig is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives it the typical fine brown edge that is a sign of laser-cut wooden shapes. The top side has the scored contour lines. The underside is left natural. Wood is a natural material, so the shade and grain vary slightly from piece to piece. Small knots are part of it and make every pig unique. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden pig
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own little pig. At the end, they proudly take home a piece they made themselves.
- For New Year's Eve or a birthday: tie a little lucky pig to a gift or hang it on a bottle as a tag. Your gift instantly feels more personal.
- Making money gifts: fold a banknote and glue it onto the pig. A plain envelope becomes a gift with a wink.
- As a homemade Mother's Day or Father's Day gift: the children paint the pig and write on it. They give something no shop can offer.
- In a shop, farm shop or at the weekly market: as a sign you can write on, the pig draws attention to your goods on shelves or counters. Larger cutouts work well as shop window decorations.
- As table scatter or a garland: string several small pigs in a row. Your windowsill or nursery wall gets a cheerful theme.
Good to know about the pig
In German-speaking countries, the pig has been a symbol of good luck for centuries. The German saying “Schwein gehabt” (literally "had pig", meaning "got lucky") still reflects this today. That is why the pig is a classic for New Year's Eve, New Year greetings, good luck in exams and small encouragement gifts. A wooden lucky pig you decorated yourself says more than any card.
Care & durability
Care is easy. As the wood is untreated, an occasional wipe with a dry cloth is enough. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the pig outdoors, protect it first with paint, varnish or oil. This keeps the surface looking good for a long time.
