A birthday is coming up – and the birthday person is a Scorpio. Instead of a shop-bought card, you put a wooden scorpion you painted yourself on the gift. Suddenly it's personal. This scorpion cutout made of untreated plywood is made for small craft ideas like this. It's a clear silhouette that you can decorate any way you like.

What changes for you

  • You can get started straight away with painting, sticking or oiling – because the wood is untreated and takes colour well.
  • Your decoration gets exactly the right size. You can choose the width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You don't need to saw or sand anything. The laser-cut edges are smooth and the silhouette is cut out cleanly.
  • You'll have enough supplies for bigger projects too, such as crafting with children. The scorpion is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.

Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day

A wooden blank takes care of the hardest part and leaves you the best one: decorating. You don't need to be able to draw or saw to end up with a finished piece. An afternoon at the craft table turns into something you can give away, hang up or add to your decorations. And everyone can see you made it yourself.

Material & finish

The scorpion is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut leaves smooth edges and the typical brown rim, which gives the silhouette a fine outline. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You decide how to finish the surface. As a natural material, every piece is unique. Shade and grain vary, and small knots may occur. This is not a defect. It simply makes every cutout one of a kind.

How to use the wooden scorpion

  • Crafting with children: each child paints their own scorpion. At the end, everyone takes a little work of art home.
  • As a birthday idea for a Scorpio: paint the cutout in their favourite colour and stick it on the card. Or use it to make a money gift. That way, the gift is clearly made by you.
  • For themed decorations: whether it's a desert theme, a children's party or a terrarium corner, the scorpion fits into your arrangement in the right size.
  • For businesses: for shop decorations, shop windows or craft classes, simply order a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces. You get identical blanks that are ready to use.

Good to know about the scorpion

Scorpio is one of the twelve classic signs of the zodiac. It covers people born between late October and late November. That's why the silhouette works not just as an animal motif. It's also a personal detail for birthday gifts, greetings cards and zodiac decorations.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Store the untreated wood in a dry place and it will keep its shape for a long time. For outdoor use or damp rooms, give it a protective coat first. Painted or oiled, the cutout will hold up there too.

  • Available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the scorpion or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is completely untreated. You can paint it, decorate it with glued-on items, coat it or oil it.

How tall is the cutout at a given width? The proportions stay the same. At a width of 10 cm, the height is 7.5 cm. From this, you can work out the height for any other width.

Why is the edge brown? The scorpion is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It also makes the edges smooth and clean.

Does every cutout look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain, and small knots are possible. This is exactly what makes every piece unique.

A wooden cutout is only the start. What counts is the moment someone unwraps your gift and realises: you decorated this yourself. Just choose your size and quantity. You'll do the rest with a brush and your imagination.
