Why this wooden spider makes a difference day to day
A good afternoon of crafting starts with a blank that helps rather than holds you up. The clear silhouette gives your project its shape from the start. There's nothing to draw out and nothing to saw. You can focus fully on decorating. An idea at the kitchen table quickly becomes a finished window decoration, a gift tag or a decoration for the front door.
Material & finish
The spider is made from 3 mm plywood and is laser-cut. This gives it smooth edges and the typical brown rim, which outlines the motif with a fine contour. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, decorate, coat or oil it just as you like. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain. Brightness and texture vary slightly, and small knots are normal. This makes every spider one of a kind, not faulty.

How to use the wooden spider
- Crafting with children in autumn: each child paints their own spider. At the end, a colourful Halloween parade hangs in the window.
- On the front door or in the hallway: put up a large spider, 40 or 50 cm high. Your guests will know you're celebrating Halloween before they even ring the bell.
- As tags on presents or sweet bags: write on or decorate small spiders from 5 cm. Every party bag gets its own spooky tag.
- At nursery, school or a craft class: a set of 25, 50 or 100 covers the whole group. Same motif, no cutting, quick start.
- In a shop window, café or on the counter: combine several sizes and hang them on thread. It's a seasonal decoration that's quick to put up and just as quick to pack away.
Good to know about spiders
Spiders and their webs are classic motifs for Halloween and autumn. Hardly any other creature stands so much for a pleasant little scare. In many regions, the spider is also traditionally seen as a sign of good luck. So the motif suits more than Halloween decorations. It also works for autumn windows, themed parties and craft projects all year round.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Simply store the untreated wood in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture. If the spider will hang outdoors for longer, give it a protective finish with paint, varnish or oil. That way it stays ready to use for many seasons.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the spider? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, coated or oiled. Paint adheres well to the natural surface.
How wide is the spider? The width matches the height. For example, if you choose 10 cm high, the spider is also 10 cm wide.
Why do the edges have a brown rim? The spider is laser-cut. This creates smooth edges with the typical brown colouring. It's part of the process and brings out the outline.
Does every spider look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, it varies in brightness and grain, and small knots are possible. This makes each piece one of a kind.
Can I use the spider outdoors? Untreated, it's for indoor use. Sealed with varnish, paint or oil, it copes better with outdoor decorating. You should still avoid constant moisture.
This piece of plywood is the start of an afternoon of painting and laughing at the kitchen table. By evening, the first spider you've decorated yourself is hanging in the window. Just choose the height and quantity. You design the rest.
