- Crafting with children stays relaxed. The edges are laser-cut smooth, so nothing needs sanding.
- Bigger projects need no extra effort. Sets come with 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
Why this haunted house makes a difference
Shop-bought Halloween decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden silhouette you design yourself becomes something of your own. Every house gets its own colours, its own glitter, its own story. In the window, on a garland or on the table, the result looks lovingly made rather than random. And the crafting itself becomes a cosy part of the celebration.
Material & finish
The haunted house is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood and has the typical brown edge. This edge frames the design like a fine outline and brings out its spooky look. The wood is left natural. It is not varnished and not glazed. So acrylic paint, felt-tip pens and glue stick reliably. Wood is a purely natural material. Small differences in shade and grain, as well as the occasional knot, are part of it. They make every piece one of a kind. Every haunted house is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the haunted house
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own haunted house. At the end, a gallery of spooky houses hangs in the window.
- For a Halloween party at home: thread several silhouettes onto a string. Now a spooky garland hangs above the buffet.
- As table decor: place a small haunted house at every seat. Your guests have something to smile about before the first bite.
- In a shop, café or at the bakery counter: use it as a window or counter decoration. Your shop window is ready for the season in a few minutes, with no big set-up.
- For nurseries, schools or craft groups: sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces cover the whole group. Everyone works on the same design.
Good to know about the haunted house
Halloween goes back to old Irish customs around the eve of All Saints' Day. Emigrants took it to North America. From there, the custom of spooky decorating spread back to Europe. The haunted house is one of the classic Halloween designs. That is why everyone recognises it as a Halloween sign straight away, whether in a window, on a garland or in a shop display.
Care & durability
Care is simple. Just dust it with a dry cloth when needed. The plywood is untreated, so keep it away from wet and constant damp. Stored dry, your haunted house will last for many Halloween seasons.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint and decorate the haunted house? Yes. The wood is completely untreated. You can paint it, colour it, stick things on it or oil it. Paint and glue adhere well to the natural surface.
Why does the silhouette have a brown edge? The haunted house is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge along the cut. It also leaves the edges smooth.
Do all the cutouts look exactly the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain and sometimes has small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
Can I use the haunted house outdoors? The plywood is untreated and should be protected from wet. Outdoors, choose a dry, covered spot or give it a protective coat of paint.
A piece of plywood is only the start. What you will remember is the evening when the painted haunted houses hang in the window and the children proudly point out which one is theirs. Just choose your size and quantity, and the crafting can begin.
