Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A horse-themed children's birthday party, a craft afternoon with the little ones or the window display for a farm shop – sometimes all that's missing is the right motif. A wooden hobby horse is made for this. It's an untreated silhouette that you can paint, decorate or simply stand up as it is. The plain blank becomes your own decoration – painted, decorated or left natural.
What changes for you
- You design the motif exactly the way you want it – because the wood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, varnished or oiled.
- You get exactly the size that suits your project – thanks to a choice of heights from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You don't need to do any finishing before you start crafting – because the laser-cut edges are smooth and the hobby horse arrives cleanly made.
- You can plan larger projects without placing individual orders. Besides single pieces, there are sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You're holding a genuine natural product – every piece has its own grain, and no two are alike.
Why this wooden hobby horse makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A motif you design yourself tells your own story. Use it as a place card at a birthday, as a tag on a present or as a recurring motif in your shop decoration. The hobby horse fits into any occasion without overloading the rest of the arrangement. And because you decide how it looks in the end, it always suits your occasion.
Material & finish
The silhouette is made from 3 mm plywood and is laser-cut. That's where the smooth edges come from, along with the typical brown edge that gives the motif a fine outline. The wood is untreated, not varnished and not glazed. It's a genuine wooden hobby horse blank that paints, glues and oils adhere to well. Every piece is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Wood is a purely natural material. Variations in lightness, fine structures in the grain and small knots are therefore normal. This makes every piece unique – it's not a flaw.

- In a shop window, farm shop or at the weekly market: combine several sizes for a matching themed display. The sets make it quick to put together.

Good to know about the hobby horse
The hobby horse, also known as a stick horse in some places, has been one of the classic children's toys for centuries. To this day, the German word “Steckenpferd” stands for a pastime you pursue purely for enjoyment. That's why the motif goes so well with anything to do with play, crafts and a love of horses – from children's birthday parties to decorations in the stables.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated wood dry and avoid constant moisture. This keeps the shape and surface looking good for a long time. If you paint or oil the motif, you give the surface extra protection and add your own colour.
