The kids' birthday party is coming up, and the theme is settled: dinosaurs. All that's missing is something little prehistoric explorers can make themselves. This wooden Stegosaurus is made for exactly that. The laser-cut plywood silhouette is untreated and ready to be painted, decorated or covered in stickers. Use it as a small tag or as a large wall picture for the children's room.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting straight away. The wood is left natural, so it takes paint, glue or oil directly.
  • Your decoration fits your project exactly. You can choose any width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You get a clean dinosaur shape that's instantly recognisable. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and a clear outline.
  • You can plan group projects without any maths. The Stegosaurus comes on its own or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • You're holding an honest, natural product. It's made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden Stegosaurus makes a difference every day

A shop-bought decoration always looks the same. A dinosaur you've designed yourself tells a little story. Put it on a shelf in the children's room, use it as a name sign on the door or give it away at a dino birthday party. It takes the excitement of prehistoric times wherever it's needed. You decide the size and the design. So you end up with something that really suits you.

Material & finish

The Stegosaurus is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical, slightly browned edge. The edge is part of laser cutting and gives the silhouette a clear outline. The surface is untreated, so it's neither varnished nor stained. You're free to paint it, oil it, decorate it or simply leave the wood natural. Wood is a natural material. Every piece has its own grain, varying shades and the occasional small knot. That's not a flaw. It's what makes each piece one of a kind.

How to use your wooden Stegosaurus

  • Crafting with kids on a rainy afternoon: every child paints their own dino. Afterwards they proudly carry it round the house.
  • For a dinosaur birthday party: put a small Stegosaurus at each place as a party favour. Your table decoration is done in a few minutes.
  • In the children's room: choose a large width, paint it and hang the cutout on the wall above the bed as a dino picture.
  • For play and learning projects about prehistoric times: at nursery or primary school, the children design their own dinos. With sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, you have enough for the whole group.
  • As a gift tag or decoration on the birthday table: add a name and the dino becomes a small personal keepsake.

Good to know about the Stegosaurus

The name Stegosaurus means “roof lizard”. It's named after the distinctive bony plates on its back. These plates make the silhouette so easy to recognise. They also give you the best area for bright colours and patterns when painting. No wonder the Stegosaurus is one of children's favourite dinosaurs.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Untreated plywood is best kept indoors in a dry place. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to protect the design, you can paint or oil it once you've finished. That way your dino stays just as you made it for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the Stegosaurus and stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or decorate it in other ways.

Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The Stegosaurus is laser-cut. The slightly browned edge comes from this process and is typical for this type of cutting.

Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is always identical. But wood is a natural material, so it never looks quite the same. Grain, shade and small knots vary and make each piece unique.

How big is the dino at a given width? As a guide: at 10 cm wide, it's 5.5 cm high. Other sizes are in proportion.

Is the cutout available in larger quantities? Yes. Besides single pieces, you can order sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. Ideal for nursery, school or big birthday parties.

What matters isn't the wooden cutout. It's the moment a child holds up their own painted dinosaur and beams. Just choose your width and quantity. You'll do the rest together.
