Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The windows are clean and the tea is steaming. Now all that's missing is something to give the room a quiet, festive glow. A wooden craft star is made for this. You paint it, stick things on it or simply leave it natural. And a plain 8-point star becomes your very own decoration. Piece by piece, your home starts to look like you – not like a department store.
What changes for you
- You decorate it however you like. The plywood is untreated, so you can glue, paint, varnish or oil it.
- It always fits your project, from a delicate window decoration to a large wall piece. Sizes range from 3 to 50 cm and can be chosen in 1 cm steps.
- You can craft with children, with your club or for a celebration without constantly reordering. The star comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You start decorating straight away instead of sanding. The laser-cut outline is clean and true to shape.
- Your decoration looks finished without a frame. The typical brown laser edge gives every star a subtle border.
Why this wooden star makes a difference every day
A star made of real wood brings a calm to the room that printed card or plastic can't match. In the window, on a branch or on the festive table, the light plywood shows its natural grain. And because you decorate it yourself, it always tells a little of your story. Decorating becomes a small, cosy moment rather than a chore.
Material & finish
The star is made of 3 mm thick plywood. It is light and pleasant to hold, yet sturdy enough to hang up, stand up and stick things on. The outline is laser-cut. This gives precise edges with the characteristic brown rim. The wood is left untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glue and oils adhere directly to the surface. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain, small knots and varying shades. This is not a flaw – it is what makes every star unique. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

- In the nursery: paint the stars and combine them into a mobile above the bed. A little night sky that becomes part of the bedtime ritual every evening.
- For weddings, birthdays or parties: write names on them and use them as place cards or as tags on guest gifts. Your guests take a keepsake home.
- In a café, bakery or market stall: arrange stars on the counter and in the shop window. Your seasonal decoration is up in minutes. With sets of up to 100, you can use the same design across the whole space.
Good to know about the 8-point star
The 8-point star is an old ornament found in the folk art of many countries. It is especially well known from traditional Nordic knitting patterns. That's why it fits so naturally into winter and Christmas decorations. As a motif for the sky and night, you can also use it all year round.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth and keep the star away from constant moisture – untreated wood likes it dry. If you want to use it outdoors or in damp conditions for longer, you can oil or varnish it yourself first. This keeps the surface looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Is the wood treated? No, the plywood is untreated – neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint, decorate, stain or oil it directly.
Why are the edges brown? The stars are laser-cut. This creates the typical dark rim along the outline. Many people use it on purpose as a decorative frame.
Do all the stars look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, every star has its own grain, a different shade and sometimes small knots. Every piece is unique.
Can I use the star outdoors? The wood is untreated and therefore mainly intended for indoor use. For outdoor use, you should oil or varnish it yourself and avoid constant wet.
A plywood cutout is only the beginning. What matters is the evening you spend at the kitchen table with a brush and paint. And later, someone asks where they can buy these stars. Just choose your size and quantity. The rest happens at your home.
