Why this wooden star makes a difference every day
A wooden Star of Bethlehem brings calm to your Christmas decorations, where shiny plastic can quickly look busy. The natural material fits in with your nativity scene, windowsill and Advent table without taking over. And because you choose the size and design yourself, you end up with decorations that really look like your home – not mass-produced.
Material & finish
The star is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This creates the typical brown edge, which neatly traces the shape. It gives the star a finished look even before you paint it. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. The star feels nice in your hand and is safe for crafting with children. The wood is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor stained. You can paint it, oil it, decorate it or leave it natural. As a natural material, each piece has its own shades, grain patterns and occasionally small knots. That is what makes every star one of a kind.

- Above the nativity scene: Fix a small star above the stable. Your scene with the nativity figures is then complete, just like on the Holy Night.
- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own star. In the end, your window shows Christmas decorations everyone is proud of.
- As Advent window decoration: Put a large star up to 50 cm high in your window. Your home looks welcoming even from the street.
- As a gift tag or place card: Write on a small star by hand. Your Christmas presents then carry the recipient's name.
- For nurseries, schools and churches: With a set of 25, 50 or 100 stars, you can supply a whole craft afternoon in one order. There is no need to gather individual pieces.
- In your shop or café: Place several stars in graded sizes in the shop window. Your Christmas display looks lovingly arranged rather than random.
Good to know about the Star of Bethlehem
The Star of Bethlehem comes from the Gospel of Matthew. It showed the Wise Men from the East the way to the newborn child. That is why it is still part of the nativity scene and the Christmas season today. It stands for hope and guidance. This makes it a good fit for nativity decorations, a church nativity play or as a small symbol on a present.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Stored dry, the star keeps its shape and look for many Christmases. As the wood is untreated, avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the star outdoors, a coat of varnish or oil will protect the surface.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the star? Yes. The wood is untreated. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or decorate it however you like – for example when making a wooden Star of Bethlehem with children.
Why does the star have a brown edge? The edge is created during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. It gives smooth edges and emphasises the shape.
Does every star look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain patterns and sometimes small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
How wide is the star? The width depends on the height you choose. For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the star is 9 cm wide.
Is the star suitable for outdoor use? The wood is untreated. For outdoor use, protect it from moisture first with varnish or oil.
What you get is a wooden cutout. What you make of it is the moment when the star hangs above your nativity scene and the Christmas story carries on in your living room. Just choose your size – you design the rest yourself.
