- You can start crafting straight away, even with children – the laser-cut edges are smooth, so nothing needs sanding.

Why this wooden dove makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden dove that you decorate yourself says something about the occasion and about you. Add the name of the child being christened, the couple's initials or spring colours for Easter. The pale, natural wood has a smooth surface and a light tone. It fits in with almost any decorating style.
Material & finish
Each wooden dove is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood and made in our own Bütic production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut leaves smooth edges and the typical brown rim, which gives the motif a fine outline. The wood is left untreated – neither varnished nor glazed – so that paint, glue and oil adhere well. Wood is a natural material, so every dove turns out slightly different. Brightness and grain vary, and small knots may occur. This is what makes each piece one of a kind.

- For a wedding: write a guest's name on each dove – and the place card becomes a little keepsake to take home.
- For a First Communion: paint the doves in the colour of the celebration and place them on the table or on presents – everything looks perfectly coordinated.
- For Easter: paint and decorate them together with children – a crafting afternoon that ends with your spring decorations finished.
- In a café, a shop or at the market: large doves in the shop window or on the counter show the season at Easter and other holidays. They are quick to set up.
- For nurseries, schools or craft groups: with a set of 10 to 100, every child has their own blank – without you having to buy them one by one.
Good to know about the dove
In Christian tradition, the dove stands for the Holy Spirit – according to the Gospels, it descended in the form of a dove at the baptism of Jesus. That's why it remains a firm part of christenings and First Communions to this day. And because "turtle doves" are proverbial for couples in love, it's just as fitting for a wedding. Looking for the classic symbol of peace? We offer the peace dove as a separate cutout.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do: keep the untreated wooden dove in a dry place and away from constant moisture – that way the natural material stays stable in shape and keeps its light, friendly look for a long time. If you'd like to use the dove outdoors or for longer, you can paint or oil it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden dove or stick things on it? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated, so paint, glue and oil adhere well to the surface.
Why does the dove have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical dark edge – and at the same time the edges are smooth and don't need any finishing.
Do all the doves look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't: as a natural material it varies in shade and grain, and small knots are possible. Every piece is one of a kind.
How wide is the dove? The width depends on the height you choose. For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 7 cm.
Is there a peace dove as well? Yes, we carry the classic peace dove as a separate cutout in our range.
In the end, it's not about a poplar plywood cutout. It's about the moment your guests take their seats and can tell from every dove that someone has prepared this with love. Simply choose your size and quantity – you'll design the rest.
