Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft afternoon is planned and the paints are ready. Only the basic shape is missing. A right-angled wooden trapezium is exactly that kind of cutout. It's a clear geometric shape you can paint, decorate or arrange into patterns. It's made for your craft table. Use it for decorations, model making or maths lessons. You start with a cleanly laser-cut shape and skip the tedious sawing.
What changes for you
- You can get started straight away instead of sawing and sanding yourself. The trapezium is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- You design the shape just the way you want. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated or oiled.
- You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose from 2 x 1 cm to 50 x 25 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can plan bigger projects with ease, such as making Christmas decorations with a whole group. Sets of 10, 25, 50 and 100 are available.
- You hold a piece of nature in your hand. Every trapezium is made from real wood with its own grain.
Why this right-angled trapezium makes a difference in everyday life
A precise basic shape takes care of the most time-consuming part of many craft projects: the exact cutting. You can focus on the creative part. That might be crafting with children, decorating gifts or laying out geometric patterns. And when the shape is used as a teaching aid, children grasp the right-angled trapezium quite literally: with their own hands.
Material & finish
The trapezium is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it smooth edges with the typical brown laser edge, which looks handcrafted. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere well. As a natural material, each piece has its own grain and varying shades. Sometimes there are small knots. This is not a flaw. It's what makes every trapezium unique. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden trapezium
- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own trapezium. In the end, a row of painted shapes lines the windowsill.
- Making Christmas decorations: Several trapeziums in different sizes make fir trees or stars. Quick to arrange, quick to glue.
- Model making: Use the trapezium as a roof, ramp or gable. The exact shape fits into the model without any reworking.
- Maths lessons: The trapezium is passed around the class as a teaching aid. The geometry lesson becomes hands-on instead of abstract.
- Money gifts and cards: A small trapezium with a message turns the envelope into a personal gift.
Good to know about the trapezium
The word trapezium comes from the Greek "trapeza", meaning table. The shape resembles a tabletop. The right-angled trapezium is a classic of school geometry. It has exactly two right angles. That makes it especially good for laying out patterns and as a tangible example in lessons.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the trapezium? Yes. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, glue and oil well. You can paint it, decorate it, oil it or leave it natural.
Why is the edge brown? The trapezium is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown laser edge. It also leaves the edges smooth, so they don't need sanding.
Do all trapeziums look the same? The shape and dimensions are the same, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, each piece has its own grain, slight differences in shade and sometimes small knots. This makes every cutout unique.
Can I choose an exact size? Yes. You choose width and height in 1 cm steps, from 2 x 1 cm to 50 x 25 cm. That way the cutout fits your project exactly.
A wooden cutout is only the starting point. What counts is the moment a simple shape becomes your idea. Painted, decorated or laid out as a pattern. Just choose the size and quantity that suit your project.
