Why this wooden hiking boot makes a difference
On a gift, a greetings card or the party table: a motif made of real wood feels warmer and more personal than a printed one. Your guests pick up the little boot and spot the drawn outlines. Then the conversation turns to the next hike. A simple decoration becomes a detail people remember.
Material & finish
The hiking boot is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in our own production in Pößneck. This creates the typical brown edge. It comes from the laser cut and gives the motif a natural, slightly rustic look. The top has the contour lines. The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. That's just right if you want to add your own paint, oil or lettering. Wood is a purely natural material, so every piece turns out a little different. Some are lighter, some darker. The grain varies slightly, and there may be small knots now and then. This isn't a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind.

How to use the wooden hiking boot
- Crafting with children before the club hiking day: each child paints their own boot. At the end, a colourful garland of one-of-a-kind boots hangs in the room.
- On a gift for keen hikers: a trekking boot with lettering as a gift tag. The parcel shows from the outside that you've put thought into it.
- On greetings cards for birthdays, retirements or a completed hike: the thin 3 mm wood adds hardly any bulk. It turns the card into a small keepsake.
- As table decoration at hiking-themed parties: a motif at every place setting. Your guests have something to talk about before the first course.
- In the shop window or on the counter of an outdoor shop, tourist information centre or inn: with decorative hiking boots in different sizes, you can quickly set up a display for the hiking season.
Good to know about the hiking boot
Poplar is one of the lightest native woods. It has a pale, fine surface. That's why the cutout takes paint and glue well. It stays light even in larger widths. Ideal if the motif is going on cards, gifts or a garland.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the cutout somewhere dry and keep the untreated wood away from constant moisture. Then it will keep its shape and look good for a long time. If you want to use it outdoors or long-term, you can paint or oil the surface yourself.
