Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A club party is coming up. The kids want to do crafts at the weekend. Or you're looking for an idea for medieval decorations. And you're missing the right base shape. That's exactly what this wooden heraldic shield is for. It's an untreated cutout in a classic coat of arms shape. You can paint it, stick things on it or write on it, just as you like. A plain piece of poplar plywood becomes your family crest, a name sign or a wall sign.
What changes for you
- You can start decorating straight away instead of sawing it out first. The shield shape is already cleanly laser-cut.
- Your paints, pens and glue hold well. The wood is untreated and takes paint, oil or wood stain directly.
- You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose from 3 cm for small tags up to 50 cm for a large sign, in 1 cm steps.
- Group projects are easy to plan, for example crafting with kids or at a club. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.
- Your finished shield has smooth, even edges because the shape is laser-cut.
Why this coat of arms shield makes a difference
A good base shape decides whether a craft project is fun or turns into hard work. With the ready-made shield cutout, you can focus on the fun part: designing, painting, personalising. Whether at the kitchen table with the kids or while preparing a club evening, the result looks like your idea. No compromises.
Material & finish
The heraldic shield is made from 3 mm poplar plywood and laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. This gives smooth edges and the typical brown laser edge. For heraldry and medieval projects, it suits the rustic wood tone. The wood is completely natural, neither varnished nor stained. So you can paint, oil or decorate it as you like. As a natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain patterns and occasionally small knots. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece unique.

Good to know about coats of arms
Coats of arms first appeared in the Middle Ages as identifying marks on shields. That's where the shape comes from. To this day, it stands for belonging and tradition. That's why it works so well for family crests, club emblems and medieval decorations. When you design a coat of arms, you always tell a bit of your own story.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Although the wood is untreated, it stays in good condition for a long time in dry indoor areas. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the shield outdoors, simply protect it with a coat of varnish, oil or wood stain.

Does every shield look the same? The shape is identical, the wood isn't. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain patterns and sometimes small knots. Every piece is unique.
