The table for the children's birthday party is almost ready. All that's missing is a little wooden piece to match the woodland animal theme. This wooden raccoon silhouette is made for exactly that. It's a laser-cut cutout with a finely scored face. Use it as table scatter, a hanging tag or a craft blank, and it brings character to the table straight away. Put it down, and a laid table turns into a little scene.

What changes for you

  • You quickly have a finished raccoon decoration. The face and contours are already scored in, so the figure works even unpainted.
  • You carry on designing just as you like. The wood is left natural and can be decorated with stickers, painted, coated or oiled.
  • You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose from 5 cm for table scatter and cards up to 50 cm for window pictures or shop displays, in 1 cm steps.
  • You can carry on without sanding. The laser-cut edges are smooth and have the typical brown rim, which also gives the silhouette depth.
  • You can plan larger projects without stress. Order the raccoon as a single piece or as a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100.

Why this raccoon silhouette makes a difference in everyday life

A ready-made decoration looks the same as everywhere else. A wooden raccoon you've decorated yourself shows your own style. Use it on the nursery wall, as table scatter on a festive table or to decorate a gift. The warm natural material brings calm to the room. It turns a quick idea into something that lasts. And because the face is already scored in, you'll get a result you're happy to show off, even without any crafting experience.

Material & finish

The cutout is made of 3 mm plywood and feels pleasantly light in your hand. It's sturdy enough for hanging, gluing and painting. Laser cutting gives clean, smooth edges and the characteristic brown rim that neatly frames the silhouette. The top side has the scored contours, the back stays plain. The wood is untreated, not varnished or glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere particularly well. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain, varying shades and sometimes small knots. That's not a flaw. It's what makes every raccoon one of a kind. It is made by Bütic in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden raccoon

  • Crafting with children: Every child paints their own little raccoon. At the end, they take home a keepsake they made themselves.
  • In the nursery: Several woodland animal silhouettes on the wall or on a mobile give the room a consistent, loving theme.
  • On cards and gifts: Stick on a small raccoon, and even a plain brown-paper parcel looks personally made.
  • On the festive table: Scatter them between plates and candles. Your guests will have something to discover before the first course.
  • In a shop or café: Large silhouettes in the window or on the counter, small ones as price tags. A seasonal display that's quick to set up and fits your autumn range.

Good to know about raccoons

The raccoon belongs to the Procyonidae family, called "Kleinbären" (small bears) in German. That's where its second German name comes from. Its German name, Waschbär ("washing bear"), comes from its habit of "washing" food in water with its front paws. This cute quirk makes it one of the most popular woodland animal motifs of all. That's why it suits children's birthdays, nurseries and autumn decorations so well.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. The wood is untreated, so it's best to keep the raccoon dry and protect it from constant moisture. If you want to hang it outdoors or in damp rooms, simply seal it with paint, varnish or oil. That way the silhouette will look good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the raccoon or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere directly to the surface.

Why does the cutout have a brown rim? The raccoon is laser cut, which creates the typical brown rim along the edges. It's part of the cutting process and neatly frames the silhouette.

Do all pieces look exactly the same? The shape is identical, the wood isn't. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain, varying shades and occasionally small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.

How wide is the raccoon at my chosen height? For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 7.5 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.

Is the cutout suitable for outdoor use? Untreated, it should be kept dry. Sealed with paint, varnish or oil, you can also use it in damper surroundings.

What matters is the moment a child proudly holds up the raccoon they painted themselves. Or when your guests smile at the table because every detail is right. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
