Why this wooden water carafe makes a difference every day
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A carafe silhouette you design yourself tells your story. It shows your colours and your lettering. You match it to your kitchen, dining room or counter. The motif fits anywhere that's about food and drink. You can paint, decorate or write on the light plywood surface. That way it suits many different interiors.
Material & finish
The silhouette is made of 3 mm plywood. It is light and feels pleasant in your hand. The cutout is laser-cut. This gives it smooth edges and the typical brown rim, which traces a fine outline around the motif. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. Paints, glues and oils stick directly to the surface. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out a little different. Some are lighter, some darker, each with its own grain and now and then small knots. This makes every carafe one of a kind. It is not a defect.

How to use the wooden water carafe
- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own little carafe. At the end, a colourful row of home-made motifs hangs in the kitchen.
- In the kitchen and dining room: Combine several sizes to create wall decoration on the theme of drinking and enjoying. No elaborate decorating needed.
- In a café or bar: Write the daily specials or drinks list on a large silhouette. It gives your counter its own sign that fits your concept.
- For caterers and buffets: Use small carafes as labels at the drinks station. Your guests find their way straight away, and setting up is quick.
- In craft groups, schools or workshops: With sets of 10 or more, every participant gets the same blank. Everyone then designs it in their own way.
Good to know about the carafe
The word “carafe” came to us from Arabic via French and Italian. In Arabic, “gharrāfa” meant a vessel for drawing water. The carafe stands for hospitality and a laid table. That's why it is a motif people understand at once in kitchens, dining rooms and restaurants. It's ideal for decorations around food and drink.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. A dry cloth is enough to remove dust. The plywood is untreated, so protect it from constant moisture. If it is going to hang outdoors or somewhere damp, seal it yourself with paint, varnish or oil. This keeps the silhouette in shape and looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden water carafe? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint it, decorate it, coat it or oil it. Paints stick directly to the natural surface.
Why do the edges have a brown rim? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim, which emphasises the outline of the motif. It is a feature of the process, not a fault.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain. Small knots are normal. Every piece is one of a kind.
Which size suits my project? You choose the height from 3 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. As a guide: at a height of 10 cm, the carafe is 7.5 cm wide.
Are there larger quantities for bigger projects? Yes. Besides single pieces, there are sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces. They work well for craft groups, restaurants or shop displays, for example.
This is more than a wooden cutout. Picture your own carafe design hanging on the wall. Your kitchen looks a little more like you. Just choose your height and quantity. You design the rest.
