Why this wooden Christmas teddy makes a difference
Home-made Christmas decorations tell a story. Like the afternoon at the kitchen table when everyone painted their own teddy. The blank gives you the shape. Everything else is up to you. Colourful for the children's room. Or subtle in white and gold for the festive table. The result is a decoration nobody else has. And you'll bring it out again year after year.
Material & finish
The Christmas teddy is made from 3 mm plywood and laser-cut. This gives a precise shape and smooth edges, so nobody gets splinters. The top has fine contour lines cut in. The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. That makes it ideal for painting and decorating. As a natural material, every piece shows its own grain. Different shades and small knots are normal. They make each figure one of a kind. The cutout is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the Christmas teddy
- Crafting with children at Advent: Each child paints their own teddy bear. In the end, the whole bear family hangs proudly in the window.
- As a gift tag: Write a name on a small figure and tie it to the parcel. Your Christmas present shows who it's for before it's even unwrapped.
- On the festive table: A painted teddy at each seat works as a place card. Your guests know straight away where to sit.
- In nurseries, schools or craft groups: A set of 25, 50 or 100 pieces covers the whole group. The same shape for everyone, no preparation needed.
- In cafés, bakeries or shops: Large figures up to 50 cm in the window or on the counter create a Christmas mood in just a few minutes. Designed by you instead of off-the-shelf decorations.
Good to know about the teddy bear
The teddy bear is named after US President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt. A hunting story from 1902 made the stuffed bear famous worldwide. Since then, the teddy has been a classic motif of childhood and Christmas. That's why it works so well as an Advent decoration, a gift tag or a craft project with little ones.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. The wood is untreated, so it's best to store the figures somewhere dry. Wipe them with a dry cloth when needed. Painting, oiling or varnishing the teddy gives the surface extra protection. That way you'll enjoy your home-made Christmas decorations for many years.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the Christmas teddy or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is natural and untreated. Paint, oil, varnish and glue stick straight to the surface.
Are the contours on both sides? No, the contour lines are on the top only. The underside stays natural and smooth.
Do all the figures look the same? Thanks to laser cutting, the shape is always identical. But wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary. Every piece is one of a kind.
Can I use the figure outdoors? The wood is untreated and should be protected from constant moisture. For outdoor use, we recommend a protective coat of paint or varnish.
Do I need to sand the edges? No. Laser cutting leaves the edges smooth and clean. You can start decorating straight away.
A wooden cutout is just the starting point. What counts is the afternoon at the kitchen table, full of painting, laughing and gluing. And the decoration that brings back a bit of Christmas every year. Simply choose your size and quantity. The rest happens at your home.
