Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The invitations to the wine tasting have gone out and the table is set. Now each place just needs a matching detail. A wooden wine glass works as a place card, on a garland above the buffet or as a window decoration. You can put it to use quickly, without a long search. The natural cutout is ready for your next craft idea. You decorate it exactly the way that suits your occasion.
What changes for you
- You can start decorating straight away. The poplar plywood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things on, varnish it or oil it.
- Your decorations look planned rather than thrown together. The clear wine glass outline is easy to recognise as a place card, hanging tag or window decoration.
- You get exactly the size you need. You choose any height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- No tedious sanding needed. The laser-cut edges are smooth and cleanly finished.
- Larger projects are easy to plan. Order them individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. They suit a party at home just as well as a wine shop or catering.
Why this wooden wine glass makes a difference
Ready-made decorations can easily look generic. A wooden cutout you have decorated yourself shows that you have put some thought into it. Your guests find a painted wooden wine glass with their name at their place. That gives them something to talk about before the first sip. A plain piece of wood becomes a small moment that makes your table or counter recognisably yours.
Material & finish
The white wine glass is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in Bütic's own production in Pößneck. This creates the typical fine brown edge, which gives the outline extra depth. The surface is left natural and takes paint, glue or oil well. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out slightly differently. The shade varies, each has its own grain, and sometimes there are small knots. This makes every piece unique – it is not a defect.

How to use the wooden wine glass
- Before the wine tasting: you write your guests' names on the cutouts. Everyone finds their place at a place card they can take home afterwards as a keepsake.
- Crafting with children: you paint the glasses together in bright colours. Afterwards a garland hangs in the kitchen window that everyone is proud of.
- For money gifts: you stick folded notes behind the motif. An envelope becomes a wedding or birthday present that people remember.
- In a wine shop, café or at the market: you label the cutouts with the grape variety or price. Your counter looks tidy and consistent, with little effort when setting up.
- As a window decoration in the kitchen: a large piece at 40 or 50 cm high works well on its own, without extra decorations around it.
Good to know about the white wine glass
White wine glasses are traditionally slimmer and smaller than red wine glasses. This keeps the wine cool in the glass for longer. This narrow, elegant silhouette makes the outline instantly recognisable as a decoration. It suits wine tastings, kitchen windows and buffets particularly well.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated cutouts somewhere dry and protect them from constant moisture. That way they keep their light, natural look for a long time. If you oil or varnish them, the surface becomes more durable.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden wine glass or glue things onto it? Yes. The wood is untreated, neither lacquered nor glazed. You can paint it, glue things on, varnish it or oil it.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The white wine glass is laser-cut. The fine brown edge is created during laser cutting and is part of its typical look.
Do all the cutouts look the same? Not quite. Wood is a natural material. Shade and grain vary, and small knots are normal. This makes every piece unique.
Is the motif suitable for crafting with children? Yes. The laser-cut edges are smooth, so the cutouts are pleasant to handle and easy to decorate together.
Which size should I choose? As a guide: at 10 cm high, the glass is 4.5 cm wide. Smaller heights suit place cards, larger ones suit window decorations.
What counts is the moment your guests find their hand-painted wine glass at the set table. That is when you notice the small effort was worth it. Simply choose your height and quantity – and start decorating.
