Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The hut is booked for the Bavarian evening, but the garland is still missing. Or you're looking for a motif the kids can paint that not everyone already has. A wooden Weißwurst (Bavarian white sausage) for crafts is made for this. It has a clear silhouette with the typical brown laser-cut edge. You decorate it however you like. A few cutouts turn into decorations that make people smile – at the regulars' table, on the buffet or at the shop counter.
What changes for you
- You make your Oktoberfest, Brotzeit or kitchen decorations in exactly your size. The Weißwurst can be ordered from 5 cm to 50 cm wide in 1 cm steps.
- You can start painting, gluing or oiling straight away. The wood is untreated and takes paint and glue well.
- Your motif looks surprisingly real even unpainted. That's thanks to the typical brown laser-cut edge, which looks like sausage skin.
- You don't need to sand or tidy anything. The edges are laser-cut smooth, cleanly finished and ready for crafting with children.
- Larger projects are easy to plan. The Weißwurst is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
Why this wooden Weisswurst makes a difference day to day
Ready-made decorations are everywhere. A motif you've decorated yourself tells your own story. The Weißwurst silhouette brings humour and handicraft together. It turns a plain table into a little stage for your Brotzeit. And it turns a crafting afternoon into a project everyone is proud of. You choose the size and quantity yourself, so the result really fits your occasion.
Material & finish
The Weißwurst is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives smooth edges with the characteristic brown rim. The wood is left natural, not varnished and not glazed. So you can glue things on, paint, coat or oil it straight away. As a natural material, every piece is unique. Colour, grain and small knots vary from cutout to cutout. That's not a flaw – it's simply what makes wood alive. Every Weißwurst is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden Weisswurst
- For an Oktoberfest or birthday evening: scatter a few Weißwürste as table scatter or hang them as a garland. Your table has a Bavarian feel before the first guest sits down.
- For crafting with children: every child paints their own sausage. In the end, a colourful collection hangs in the kitchen that everyone is proud of.
- As a gift tag or for money gifts: a small Weißwurst on a gift basket or voucher turns your present into a tongue-in-cheek greeting.
- At the butcher's, snack bar or weekly market: write on it and use it as a price tag or sign at the counter. Your goods are presented with care, and the motif sticks in people's minds.
- In restaurants and catering: use it as a table number, place card or buffet label at a Bavarian theme night. It's quick to set up and can be reused as often as you like.
Good to know about the Weisswurst
The Weißwurst is said to be a Munich invention from the 19th century. According to old custom, it shouldn't hear the midday bells. So traditionally it's eaten for breakfast with a pretzel and sweet mustard. That's exactly why the motif suits a Weißwurst breakfast, Oktoberfest decorations and any occasion where you want Bavarian cosiness on the table.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. If needed, simply wipe it with a dry cloth or dust it. The plywood is untreated, so protect it from constant moisture and wet. If you paint or oil it, the surface becomes more resistant. That way your decorations keep their shape and look for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden Weißwurst or glue things onto it? Yes. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can coat, paint, decorate or oil it, just as your project needs.
Where does the brown rim on the edges come from? The Weißwurst is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim on the smooth cut edges. For a sausage motif, it's a rather fitting effect.
How does the height relate to the width I choose? The shape is scaled proportionally. For reference: at 10 cm wide, the height is 4 cm.
Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain, and small knots are normal. That makes every piece one of a kind.
What counts is more than a wooden cutout. It's the moment your guests discover the Weißwurst decorations you've made. And everyone laughs before the first pretzel. Just choose your width and quantity. You design the rest.
