The fine brown edge comes from the cutting method and outlines the design. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. This means paint and glue stick reliably. As a natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Differences in shade, small knots and variations in the grain are normal. They make every piece unique.
