The spooky party is planned and the children want to join in the crafting. But the window still needs a motif that makes guests smile from outside. This wooden werewolf craft brings a howling silhouette into your home. You can paint it, decorate it or stand it up in natural wood, just as you like. Use it small as table scatter or large in the window. Making werewolves becomes an afternoon together, and the result fits right into your Halloween decorations.

What changes for you

  • You design your Halloween decorations exactly the way you like. The plywood is untreated, so you can paint it, decorate it with glue-on bits, coat it or oil it.
  • Your motif always suits the spot where you want it. You can choose any height from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can craft in a relaxed way, even with children – because the laser-cut edges are smooth and need no sanding.
  • Your werewolf looks atmospheric even left plain. The typical brown laser edge neatly traces the silhouette.
  • You can kit out bigger events without extra effort. Sets of 10 to 100 pieces are available for children's birthday parties, school projects or shop decorations.

Why this wooden werewolf makes a difference

Ready-made plastic decorations look the same everywhere. A wooden motif you design yourself tells your own story. You decide on the colour, size and spot. And in the end, your window shows something that exists only once. At Halloween especially, you get decorations that feel cosy and lovingly made rather than garish and generic.

Material & finish

The werewolf is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and a clean finish. It feels pleasant in the hand and is safe for crafting with children. The wood is left untreated, neither varnished nor stained. That's why it takes paint and glue well. As a natural material, it is sometimes lighter, sometimes darker. Small knots or differences in the grain are part of it. This makes every piece one of a kind.

How to use the wooden werewolf

  • At a craft afternoon before Halloween: the children paint their own werewolves. They're proud when their motif later howls from the window.
  • At a spooky party: scatter small werewolves across the table or put one at each place. Your guests have something to discover before the first snack.
  • In the window: a large silhouette of 40 or 50 cm. Even from the street, it's clear that Halloween is being celebrated here.
  • In a café, bakery or at a market stall: place a few werewolves among your goods. The counter looks seasonally decorated without much setting up.
  • At school, after-school club or nursery: with a set of 25 or 50 pieces, the whole group crafts the same motif. Every result turns out differently.

Good to know about the werewolf

Since the Middle Ages, the werewolf has been one of the best-known figures in European folklore. It's the human who turns into a wolf at full moon. That's why the howling silhouette belongs at every spooky party. At Halloween it suits the window just as well as the cake table.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. As the wood is untreated, an occasional dry dusting is enough. Avoid constant moisture and wet conditions. This keeps the silhouette in shape, and you can enjoy it for many Halloween seasons. If you'd like to display the werewolf outdoors, paint or oil it first.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the werewolf? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, glued or oiled.

Do I need to sand the edges? No. The cutout is laser-cut and has smooth edges. A slightly brown edge is typical.

Do all the werewolves look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain and sometimes has small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.

How wide is the werewolf? The width depends on the height. At 10 cm high, it is 9 cm wide. Other sizes scale accordingly.

Picture the moment the children put their finished werewolves in the window. The first guests stop outside and grin. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest yourself.
