Why wooden clouds make a difference every day
A wooden cloud lies flat on the table and feels smooth. It looks different from paper or plastic decorations. The light surfaces and dark laser edges give the motif a clear outline without being too much. The result looks lovingly made, even if you only had a few minutes to decorate.
Material & finish
The wooden clouds are laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. That's where the typical brown edges come from. They frame the motif neatly. The surface is light and untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paint, glue and oils adhere well, and you decide on the finish yourself. The clouds are made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, with clean workmanship. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness and grain vary, and small knots may occur. That's exactly what makes every piece one of a kind.

How to use the wooden clouds
- For a christening or baby shower: scatter small clouds between plates and candles – and the table tells your guests what you're celebrating the moment they sit down.
- At the craft table with children: everyone paints their own cloud – and at the end, a home-made mobile hangs in the nursery.
- For a wedding or engagement: write names or a date on larger clouds. Place them on the gift table where everyone can see them.
- In a café or shop: hang clouds in different sizes in the shop window or by the counter. It's a seasonal decoration that's quick to set up. The light wood with dark laser edges gives it a clear look.
- For photo projects and scrapbooking: stick a small cloud onto an album or card. Your greeting then has a surface of real wood that you can feel.
Good to know about the cloud
Anyone who is newly in love or simply blissfully happy is, as the German saying goes, floating "on cloud seven" – or, as you might say, in seventh heaven. The expression goes back to old ideas of the seventh, highest heaven. That's why the cloud motif is a particularly good fit for weddings, engagements and Valentine's Day, as well as for christenings and baby showers, where it stands for lightness and dreams.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do: keep the wooden clouds dry and away from constant moisture, and they'll keep their light, even surface for a long time. If you'd like to use them outdoors or more often, you can protect the untreated wood with a coat of paint or oil once you've finished decorating them.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden clouds? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed – you can paint it, decorate it, coat it or oil it.
How tall is a cloud at the width I've chosen? Multiply the width by 0.575. So a cloud 10 cm wide is 5.75 cm high, and a cloud 25 cm wide is 14.375 cm high.
Why don't all the clouds look exactly the same? Wood is a natural material: shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece – that's not a flaw, it's what makes every cloud unique.
Where do the brown edges come from? The clouds are laser-cut, which creates the dark edges that frame the motif neatly and with strong contrast.
What quantities can I order? The clouds come in packs of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces – depending on the size of your project.
In the end, it's not about a wooden cutout. It's about the moment your guests walk up to the table and instantly feel that someone has decorated it with love. Simply choose your size and quantity – you'll design the rest.
