A country-style birthday table, a crafting afternoon with the children or a shop window that still needs the right motif – often all that's missing is a small cutout that fits in easily. This wooden goat silhouette is made for exactly that. It's a clear shape in natural wood. You can paint it, stick things on it or simply stand it up, just as you like. That's how a simple cutout becomes your own decoration.

What changes for you

  • You're free to design it exactly to your taste – because the wood is untreated and can be decorated with glue-on embellishments, painted, varnished or oiled.
  • Your decoration always fits its spot exactly, from a small table scatter piece to a large free-standing display. That's thanks to the selectable height of 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • No sawing or sanding needed – the wooden goat is laser-cut and has smooth edges with the typical brown edge that gives the silhouette extra definition.
  • You're well covered for bigger projects too – because you can order the goat individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • You're holding a real piece of nature – every silhouette shows its own grain, so no two cutouts are alike.

Why this goat silhouette makes a difference in everyday life

Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden blank, on the other hand, leaves you completely free. You decide on the colour, the pattern and where it goes. In the end, you have something that really comes from you. The light, smooth wood works just as well on the table, on a shelf or on the wall. You can paint it, stick things on it or leave it plain.

Material & finish

The goat silhouette is made of 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The result is clean, smooth edges that need no finishing. You can start creating straight away. The wood is left untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. This means paints, glazes and glue take to it well. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out slightly different. Some are lighter, some darker, and occasionally there are small knots in the grain. That's what makes every goat unique. It isn't a flaw.

How to use the wooden goat

  • Crafting with children: everyone paints their own goat – and at the end, a whole colourful herd stands on the windowsill.
  • As table decoration for a birthday or garden party: little goats as table scatter or at each place setting – and the farmyard theme runs right across the table.
  • At nursery or school: making goats as a group project – thanks to sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, every child gets their own blank.
  • In a farm shop, cheese stall or café: a labelled or painted goat silhouette on the counter or shelf – and your goat's cheese specialities are easy to spot and lovingly presented.
  • As a gift tag or decoration on ribbon: a little goat of 3 to 5 cm – and your parcel instantly feels more personal than any shop-bought bow.

Good to know about goats

The goat is one of humankind's oldest domestic animals and still stands for country life, modesty and a good dose of stubbornness. That's why its silhouette is such a good match for farmyard motifs, country-style decor and anywhere regional products such as goat's cheese are on display.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: as the wood is untreated, it keeps its natural look for a long time if stored dry. Avoid constant damp and wet – or protect the goat with paint, varnish or oil of your choice before using it outdoors.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the wooden goat? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated with glue-on embellishments, varnished or oiled – however you like.

Why does the silhouette have a brown edge? The goat is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge that emphasises the outline – the edges are smooth and ready to use straight away.

Why do the cutouts look different? Wood is a natural material: shade and grain vary, and small knots are normal. That makes every piece unique.

How wide is the goat? The width depends on the height you choose: at 10 cm tall, the silhouette is 9 cm wide.

Where does the cutout come from? Every goat is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

In the end, it's not about a wooden cutout. It's about the moment a simple silhouette becomes your very own decoration – painted, embellished or left natural. Just choose your height and quantity and get started.
