Why this wooden billy goat makes a difference in everyday life
A good blank motif takes care of the tedious part and leaves you the fun part: designing. Maybe you're crafting with children at the kitchen table. Maybe you're preparing a farmyard decoration. Either way, you're holding a cleanly cut piece of wood that's just waiting for your colours. An afternoon with brushes and glue turns into decoration that's truly your own.
Material & finish
The billy goat is laser-cut from 3 mm thick plywood. That's where the smooth edges with the typical brown rim come from. They give the motif a handcrafted look. The top side has the contour scoring with the face and lines. The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You decide on the finish yourself. As a natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Different shades, small knots and fine grain patterns are part of it and make every piece unique. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the billy goat
- Crafting with children: everyone gets a blank and paints their own billy goat. At the end, a whole colourful herd hangs in the window.
- For farmyard decoration: combine the billy goat with other farm animals to create a window picture or a country-style table decoration. Your home will feel rural and calm.
- As table scatter for a birthday table: spread small billy goats between the plates. The farmyard theme then runs across the whole table.
- As a tag with ribbon: drill a small hole and thread some string through. Your gift tag is ready, and it won't end up in the bin.
- In a farm shop or at the weekly market: painted and placed on a shelf or counter, the billy goat gives your product display a rural look. It takes very little decorating effort.
Good to know about the billy goat
The goat is one of the oldest domestic animals and has been part of farm and pasture life for thousands of years. That's why the billy goat fits so naturally into farmyard motifs, country-style decoration and farm animal craft projects. It works for anything from a children's birthday party to an autumn window picture.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. An occasional dry dusting is enough. As the wood is untreated, it can't withstand constant moisture. Hung or placed indoors, it will last you a long time. If you'd like to make it more resistant, you can paint or oil it as you wish.
