Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The Advent wreath is ready. The windows are still waiting for something Christmassy. It's an untreated wooden cutout in the size you want, and you design it your way. A simple silhouette becomes your very own Christmas decoration.
What changes for you
- You design your Christmas decorations exactly the way you like. The plywood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things on, varnish it or oil it.
- You'll find the right size for every idea. Choose from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps, from a small hanging decoration to a large window decoration.
- You can hang small candy canes straight on the Christmas tree without ribbon or hooks. The curved shape holds onto the branch by itself.
- You can craft with children in peace, without snagging on rough edges – because laser cutting leaves the edges smooth.
- For bigger projects, you get the right quantity straight away. Order them singly or as a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
Why this wooden candy cane makes a difference
Ready-made decorations look the same in every home. A wooden blank, on the other hand, becomes your own piece. Painted in classic red and white, covered in glitter or left natural: the candy cane fits in windows, wreaths and gift wrapping. And it shows the traces of your own work. If the children join in, you'll end up with tree decorations that have a story.
Material & finish
The candy cane is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives clean, smooth edges. It also leaves the typical brown edge, which gives the shape a clear outline. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That's why it takes paint, glue and oil well. As a natural material, each piece has a different shade. Small differences in the grain or tiny knots are part of it. That makes every cutout one of a kind.

How to use the wooden candy cane
- Crafting with children at the weekend in Advent: each child paints their own candy cane. At the end, the tree is hung with homemade decorations everyone is proud of.
- Small sizes hung straight on the branch: the curved shape holds as a Christmas tree decoration without any thread. Quick to put up, quick to take down.
- In the window or on the door wreath: place a few candy canes among fir branches. Your entrance looks Christmassy straight away, without much arranging.
- On a present instead of a bow: tie a painted candy cane onto the parcel. Your present stands out under the tree, with a tag that's kept.
- In a café, bakery or at a Christmas market stall: with larger sets, you can decorate the counter and display in a uniform way. Quick to set up, and there's a size to suit every space.
Good to know about the candy cane
The red-and-white striped candy cane has been part of Christmas tradition since the 19th century. Since then, it has decorated Christmas trees and windows. That's why the shape works so well: everyone recognises it at first glance. Whether left natural or painted in classic colours.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the cutouts in a dry place and keep them away from constant moisture. This way, the untreated wood keeps its shape and you can enjoy it for many Christmases.
