What changes for you
- You get exactly the size that suits your project. The onion is available from 3 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can get started straight away with painting, sticking or oiling – because the wood is untreated and takes colour well.
- No sawing or sanding needed. Every onion is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- Bigger projects are easy to plan. The cutouts come singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your decorations look natural rather than generic. That's thanks to real wood with its own individual grain.
Why this wooden onion makes a difference in everyday life
A ready-made cutout takes care of the most tedious part of crafting. You don't have to trace templates and saw them out. The shape is already in your hand, so you can focus fully on decorating it. Put it on a kitchen shelf, use it in an autumn table display or make it a shared craft project with children. The motif instantly shows the typical onion profile with its leaf tip, in light birch plywood. And because you choose the size freely, the onion works for any idea, from small table scatter to a large window picture.
Material & finish
The onion is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood and made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Laser cutting creates the typical brown edge, which outlines the silhouette nicely. The edges are smooth, so you can pick up the cutout and work on it straight away. The wood is untreated, unvarnished and unglazed. That makes it ideal for painting, oiling or decorating. As with any natural material, the shade and grain vary a little from piece to piece. Small knots may occur. This makes every onion one of a kind and is not a flaw.

How to use the wooden onion
- Crafting with children: every child paints their own onion. In the end, a colourful vegetable garland hangs in the children's room or the kitchen.
- In your kitchen at home: lean a large onion against the shelf, with lettering or left plain. It gives your herb corner a lovingly made frame.
- For harvest festival or autumn: combine several sizes on the table or windowsill. Your decorations are set up without much arranging.
- In the farm shop, at the market or in the vegetable section: write on the onions and use them as price tags or shelf labels. Your produce is easy to spot at a glance and the counter looks tidy.
- In restaurants and cafés: use them as decorations on the buffet or on the menu board. A small detail that picks up the country-style theme.
Good to know about onions
The onion is one of the oldest cultivated plants in human history. Few vegetables stand for kitchen, harvest and down-to-earth cooking as much as the onion does. That's why the motif suits kitchen decorations and harvest festival so well. It also fits anywhere fresh ingredients are on display, from your own stove to a market stall.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated cutouts in a dry place and keep them away from constant moisture. That way they keep their natural look for a long time. If you want to protect the surface or add colour, simply paint or oil the wood.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the wooden onion? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or use it as it is.
Why does the onion have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It is part of the silhouette and makes the shape stand out nicely.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it varies in shade and grain. Small knots are normal. Every piece is one of a kind.
Do I need to sand the edges? No. Laser cutting leaves the edges smooth, so the cutout is ready to use straight away.
What counts is the moment your own decoration hangs in the kitchen. And you think: that's exactly how I wanted it. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
