Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Outside, autumn is glowing. Inside, there's a pile of wooden cutouts on the table. And the window decorations come together as you craft with the children. This plywood maple leaf is made for afternoons like these. It's untreated and smoothly laser-cut. You can order it in heights from 3 to 50 cm, exactly as your project needs. A single piece or a whole shower of leaves – you decide.
What changes for you
- You can start painting, decorating or oiling straight away – the wood comes untreated in its natural finish and takes any colour well.
- Your decorations look neat and well thought out rather than home-sawn. That's thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges with their typical brown rim.
- You get exactly the size that fits your idea. Choose from 3 cm for gift tags up to 50 cm for the wall, in 1 cm steps.
- You don't have to piece together orders for bigger projects. Order the leaf individually or straight away as a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You're holding an honest natural material. Every leaf has its own grain, and every piece is one of a kind.
Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day
You can find ready-made decorations everywhere. A wooden leaf you've designed yourself tells your story. You choose the colour, size and arrangement. In the end, something unique hangs in your window, on your door or above your table. The clear leaf silhouette brings calm and a natural feel to the room. It never looks overdone.
Material & finish
The leaf is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges and the characteristic brown rim. You don't need to sand anything, and you can work with the leaf straight away. Because the wood is untreated, you can paint it, glue things onto it, oil it or leave it natural. As a pure natural material, each leaf shows different shades, textures and occasionally small knots. That isn't a flaw. It's exactly what makes each piece unique.

How to use the maple leaf
- For crafting with children on an autumn afternoon: each child paints their own leaf. And your window decorations for the coming weeks are done.
- As gift tags in 3 to 5 cm: write a name on one, and every parcel carries a small personal greeting.
- For money gifts: use a painted leaf as the base and fold the note artfully on top. Now your gift has a story.
- As table scatter on an autumn table: spread a few small leaves between candles and napkins. The table looks lovingly laid with very little effort.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: larger leaves in the shop window or on the counter signal the autumn season. They're quick to hang up, easy to swap with the seasons and always look tidy.
- For a Canada-themed party or as a reminder of a big trip: paint the Maple Leaf red and hang it on the wall or a pinboard.
Good to know about the maple leaf
Since 1965, the maple leaf has been the central motif of the Canadian national flag. Around the world, it's seen as a symbol of Canada and of a love of nature. So the cutout works not only as autumn decoration. It's also a gift idea for Canada fans, a travel keepsake or a decoration for country-themed evenings.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. A dry cloth is enough for dust. As the wood is untreated, avoid constant moisture. Or paint, glaze or oil the leaf before use. This protects the surface, and it will stay looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden leaf or glue things onto it? Yes. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, varnish, oil and glue well. It's ideal for painting, decorating and crafts.
Why does the leaf have a brown rim? The rim forms during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. It also gives you smooth edges with no sanding needed.
Do all the leaves look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, each leaf shows its own shades, grain and sometimes small knots. That makes every piece one of a kind.
Which sizes and quantities are available? You choose the height from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. You can order single pieces or sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
What matters isn't the wooden cutout. It's the moment the leaves you painted yourselves are hanging in the window and you think: we made that. Just choose your size and quantity – and get started.
