The craft table is set. Paints and brushes are ready. And the children can't wait to get started. This mule wooden cutout is made for afternoons like these. It is a mule silhouette made of untreated plywood. You can paint it, decorate it and design it just as you like. A simple wooden figure becomes your very own animal decoration.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting straight away, with no preparation. The plywood is left natural, so it takes paint, glue or oil directly.
  • Your children can join in safely and without frustration. The laser-cut edges are smooth and free of splinters.
  • You'll find the right size for every project, from a small tag to a large wall motif. You choose the width freely from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You're also well equipped for group activities or larger decorating projects. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.
  • Your finished pieces look carefully made, not home-made. Each silhouette is cleanly laser-cut. The typical brown edge forms a fine outline.

Why this wooden cutout makes a difference in everyday life

A blank that already has a clear shape takes care of the hardest part. You don't need to draw or saw anything. You can focus entirely on decorating. Crafting with children becomes a relaxed afternoon instead of a test of patience. And at the end you hold a figure you can be proud of. Use it as animal or farm decoration, on a home-made card or as a gift tag. The mule gives your ideas character.

Material & finish

The mule is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges and precise contours. The typical brown cut edge frames the silhouette with a natural outline. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. So you can paint it, decorate it or oil it, just as you like. As a natural material, each piece shows its own grain. Differences in shade and small knots are part of it. They are not flaws. They make every figure one of a kind.

How to use the wooden mule

  • Crafting with children: Each child paints their own mule. At the end, they proudly take home a figure they designed themselves.
  • For your animal and farm decoration: Combine several sizes to make a small herd on a windowsill or shelf. The simple shape and light wood stand out.
  • On cards and gifts: Glue on a small mule or tie it on as a tag. Your greetings card or gift of money then looks individually designed.
  • For signs and labels: Add a name or a saying. The silhouette becomes a door sign or notice with its own motif.
  • In a farm shop, riding stable or café: The silhouettes decorate counters, shop windows or price tags. With sets of 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can quickly cover larger areas or craft activities.

Good to know about the mule

The mule is a cross between a mare and a male donkey. For centuries it has been valued as a patient, sure-footed pack animal, especially in the mountains. That is exactly why the motif is so popular with anyone who loves animals, hiking or country life. It makes a gift idea for riders and mountain lovers, or a motif for rustic farm and stable decoration.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated wood in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture. Then it keeps its natural look for a long time. If you paint or oil it, you protect the surface even more and choose the look at the same time.

  • Width freely selectable from 3 cm to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps
  • Available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the mule? Yes. The wood is untreated and takes paint, glue and oil directly. It's ideal for painting, embellishing and decorating.

Why does the figure have a brown edge? That's the typical cut edge from laser cutting. It is part of the process and frames the silhouette like a fine outline.

Does every mule look exactly the same? The shape is always laser-cut with the same precision. The wood itself varies, though. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain and small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.

How tall is the figure at my chosen width? As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 8.5 cm. Other sizes follow the same proportions.

This piece of plywood is the start of something you make together. Picture your hand-painted mule on the windowsill. You look at it and think: we did a good job there. Just choose your width and quantity – and get started.
