Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The music school concert is coming up. Or an oboist's birthday, or an evening with friends from the orchestra. And you're still looking for decorations that really suit the occasion. This wooden oboe brings the silhouette of the classic wind instrument into your home as a plywood cutout. It is untreated, laser-cut and ready for your ideas – just right for your next crafting afternoon. Painted, decorated or left natural: the simple blank becomes exactly the piece you need.
What changes for you
- You can design the oboe exactly as you like. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things on, coat it or oil it.
- Your decorations look neat and well thought out. That's thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges with the typical brown rim, which outlines the silhouette.
- You'll find the right size for every project. Choose from 10 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- Larger projects are easy to plan, such as making Christmas decorations with the music class. The cutouts come singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You give something personal rather than something random. A musical instrument motif shows straight away that you've put thought into it.
Why this wooden oboe makes a difference
Ready-made decorations rarely fit the occasion exactly. A blank you design yourself always does. The oboe silhouette puts music on show in the room. Use it on a music stand, on the practice room door or on a gift for the teacher. And crafting with children turns into a shared afternoon to remember.
Material & finish
The cutout is made of 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This gives smooth, clean edges that won't get in your way while you decorate. The brown laser edge is part of the process and neatly frames the shape. The wood is left natural, with no varnish and no glaze. Paint, glue and oil adhere particularly well to it. As a natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Variations in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are normal and make every piece one of a kind.

How to use the wooden oboe
- Before the school concert: Paint the cutouts with the children as table or wall decorations. The hall shows what the day is about right from the entrance.
- For a musician's birthday: Decorate the oboe with a name and date and use it as a gift tag. A small detail that people remember.
- Crafting with children: Everyone designs their own wooden musical instrument. In the end, a little gallery hangs in the hallway.
- In a music school or instrument shop: With a set, you can decorate the shop window, pinboard or counter in one go. One consistent motif, quick to set up, all from one supplier.
- As table scatter or card decorations: Small sizes fit on invitations and greetings cards with a wind instrument theme.
Good to know about the oboe
The oboe has a special role in the orchestra. Traditionally, it gives the tuning note before the concert, and all the other instruments tune to it. That's why its silhouette suits concert decorations, music schools and gifts for people whose lives are set to music so well.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the untreated cutouts in a dry place and keep them away from constant moisture. That way they keep their shape and are ready to use at any time. A coat of paint or oil gives the surface extra protection – whatever suits your project.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the wooden oboe? Yes. The plywood is untreated, so it's neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere directly to the surface.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The oboe is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim along the edges. It also gives a smooth, clean cut edge.
Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, it shows variations in shade, fine grain patterns and occasionally small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
Are the cutouts available in larger quantities? Yes. You can order them singly or choose sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. They're ideal for group projects, concert decorations or shop displays, for example.
This is about more than a piece of plywood. It's the moment your hand-decorated oboe hangs on a gift or decorates the concert hall. And you can see it was made with care. Just choose your size and quantity and get started.
