Material & finish

The plant marker is made of acrylic glass (PLEXIGLAS^®). It combines transparent neon orange and grey material. The fluorescent frame collects incoming UV light. It gives it off again at the edges as a bright glow. This works in sunshine as well as on cloudy days or at early dusk. Every marker is laser engraved in our own production in Pößneck. We use branded acrylic, with clean lettering that stays readable. Due to the material, all plant names appear as light grey engraving. It stands out well against the grey marker.

Good to know about fluorescent acrylic glass

Fluorescent acrylic glass captures invisible UV radiation. It carries it through the material and gives it off at the edges as visible light. No power or batteries needed. That is why the neon orange frame of this plant marker glows even on cloudy days and at dusk. That is exactly when you would otherwise have to look twice in the bed.
