A mobile for the children's room, a sign for the farm shop or a yellow square for model making. Often you're missing exactly that one coloured piece in the right size. This yellow square cutout made of PLEXIGLAS® is made for your next project. You choose the width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. You get a cleanly laser-cut piece of acrylic glass that does what you planned, indoors and outdoors.

What changes for you

  • You get exactly the size your project needs. You choose the width freely from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You don't need to worry about the weather. The cutout is weatherproof, frost-resistant and UV-stable. So the yellow stays bright outdoors too.
  • You start with a flawless surface. The protective film on both sides keeps the material free from scratches until you use it.
  • You can bring lighting ideas to life. With 15 % translucency, the yellow square glows softly when there is light behind it.
  • You save when crafting with groups or in the workshop. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces give you lots of identical parts in one go.

Why this acrylic cutout makes a difference in everyday use

No tedious sawing and no reworking the edges. You hold a finished, rigid square in your hand and can get straight to your actual project. The laser-cut edges are clean and even. You can see that in the finished result, whether at the window, on the market stall or in the model. And because the material can be reused again and again, the cutout stays with you beyond your first idea.

Material & finish

Every square is made from cast branded acrylic (PLEXIGLAS®, GS). It is laser-cut in Bütic's own production in Pößneck. That is why the dimensions are exact and the finish is clean. At approx. 3 mm thick, the material is very sturdy. It withstands weather and frost and does not yellow, thanks to its UV stability. Once you peel off the protective film, the glossy surface appears and gives the strong yellow its depth.

How to use the PLEXIGLAS® cutout

  • Crafting with children: paint small squares, decorate them or thread them into a mobile. Every child takes home their own weatherproof piece.
  • Model making: use it as a coloured surface, façade or base plate, cut to exactly the size your scale requires. No reworking of the edges needed.
  • Light objects: place the square in front of a light source. The slight translucency creates a warm yellow glow.
  • Outdoors: use it as a sign or marker on the house, in the garden or on business premises. Being UV-stable and frost-resistant, the surface still looks good after years.
  • For businesses, clubs and workshops: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can supply courses, displays or series work in one go. All parts are identical and ready to use straight away.

Good to know about PLEXIGLAS®

PLEXIGLAS® is the protected brand name for an acrylic glass developed in Germany in the 1930s. Since then it has proven itself as a light, shatter-resistant alternative to glass. That is exactly why the cutout also works where real glass would be too risky. For example when crafting with children, outdoors or in busy places.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Simply leave the protective film on the square until you work with it. That keeps the glossy surface free from scratches. The material is weatherproof, frost-resistant and UV-stable. So you can reuse it again and again, indoors and outdoors.

Does the yellow acrylic glass let light through? Yes, with a translucency of 15 % it lets light shine through softly. This makes it suitable for light objects too.

What height is the square? Height and width are the same. If you choose a width of 10 cm, for example, the height is also 10 cm.

How is the cutout delivered? With protective film, so the glossy surface doesn't get scratched on its way to you. Simply peel it off when you start working.
