The disc is made from branded cast acrylic (GS). The material feels smooth and solid, and it does not warp. Each PLEXIGLAS^® disc is laser cut as a cutout. This gives clean, even edges with no finishing needed. Peel off the protective film to reveal the glossy surface. Every disc is made by Bütic in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. We cut on lasers and finish each piece neatly.

Good to know about PLEXIGLAS^®

PLEXIGLAS^® is the registered brand name for acrylic glass – the "GS" stands for cast material, which is particularly dimensionally stable. Compared with real glass, acrylic is considerably lighter and far less prone to breaking. That's why the round disc is also suitable where glass would be too risky: when crafting with children, in outdoor decorations or anywhere things are handled and moved around a lot.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: simply leave the protective film on the disc until you use it, and the glossy surface stays scratch-free. After that, an occasional wipe with a soft cloth is all it needs.
