Material & finish

Each oval disc is made of cast acrylic glass (GS), approx. 3 mm thick. This keeps it dimensionally stable and durable, even with frequent use. The discs are laser-cut, so the edges are clean. Once you remove the protective film, the glossy surface is revealed, with a light transmission of 100 %. The discs are made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. So every cutout is made in Germany.

Good to know about acrylic glass

Acrylic glass is much lighter and more break-resistant than ordinary glass. By the way, PLEXIGLAS^® was developed in Germany back in the 1930s. Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. It's best to leave the protective film on the disc until your project is finished. That way, the glossy surface stays undamaged while you work. The material is UV-stable, weatherproof and frost-resistant. So you can leave your decorations outside permanently without them suffering.
