Material & finish

Each disc is made of cast acrylic glass (GS), approx. 3 mm thick. The material keeps its shape. It is much more break-resistant than a glass pane of the same size. We cut the discs on lasers in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. This gives clean, even edges. Once you peel off the protective film, you have a glossy surface. Paint and lettering show up clearly on it. With a light transmission of 6%, the orange material lets only a little light through. In front of a light source, it gives a subtle, warm glow.

Good to know about PLEXIGLAS^®

PLEXIGLAS^® is the registered brand name for acrylic glass. It was developed in Germany back in the 1930s. It is much lighter and more break-resistant than ordinary glass. That's why it works so well for decorations that are hung up, carried around or made by children.

Care & durability

There isn't much to do: peel off the protective film and you're done. If needed, a soft, damp cloth is enough. Avoid abrasive cleaners so the glossy surface stays nice for a long time. The material is weatherproof, frost-resistant and UV-stable. So you can leave your decoration outside.
