The silhouette is made of 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and the characteristic brown rim. This rim gives the design a fine outline. As the wood is untreated, it takes paint, glaze and glue well. Wood is a purely natural material, so every silhouette turns out a little different. The shade varies, each piece has its own grain, and some have small knots. This makes every piece unique – it is not a defect.
