A rainy afternoon. The children are sitting at the kitchen table, with brushes and paints at the ready. All that's missing is a shape that makes them want to get started. That's exactly what this wooden robot is made for. It's a laser-cut figure of untreated poplar plywood. You can paint it, stick things on it or simply use it as decoration just as it is. A plain wooden surface becomes your very own tin buddy.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting and painting straight away – because the wood is untreated and takes paint, glue or oil directly.
  • You get exactly the size that suits your project – thanks to a freely selectable height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • Your children can work safely with smooth edges – because the robot is cleanly laser-cut and neatly finished.
  • You can plan group projects without reordering – because the robot comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • You're holding a genuine piece of handcraft. It's made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden robot makes a difference day to day

A ready-cut shape takes the hardest part off your hands. You don't need to draw anything or saw anything out. You can focus entirely on decorating. When crafting with children, the clear robot shape brings quick results they can be proud of. As decoration, the untreated wooden surface suits a child's bedroom or a windowsill. A simple cutout becomes a one-off piece in your own style.

Material & finish

The robot is made from 3 mm poplar plywood and is laser-cut. That's why it has the typical brown edge, which gives the figure a distinctive, finished look. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. The figure feels pleasant in your hand and is easy to paint. The wood is untreated, not varnished and not glazed. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or leave it natural. Wood is a natural material, so every figure turns out slightly different. Some are lighter, some darker, with fine differences in the grain or small knots. This makes every piece unique – it's not a flaw.

How to use the wooden robot

  • Crafting with children at the weekend: each child paints their own robot. At the end, a whole colourful robot squad stands on the shelf.
  • For a robot-themed children's party: a small robot at every place as a party favour. Your guests take home a keepsake they decorated themselves.
  • In a child's bedroom: a large 50 cm robot on the wall or on the chest of drawers. Painted or unpainted, it suits any interior style.
  • For nursery, after-school club or school projects: with the set of 25 or 50, the whole group has the same shape. You save yourself the cutting and preparation.
  • In a shop or shop window: several robots in different sizes, arranged together. Your display of tech items or toys looks carefully put together rather than random.
  • As gift decoration: stick a small robot on a parcel. The present stands out before it's even unwrapped.

Good to know about the robot

The word "robot" comes from the Czech "robota", which means work or forced labour. It became known worldwide through Karel Čapek's 1920 play "R.U.R.". Ever since, the tin buddy has fascinated children and adults alike. That's why the robot shape is a lasting favourite for children's room decoration, themed parties and anyone who loves technology.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated wooden robot dry and protect it from constant moisture. It will then keep its natural look for a long time. If you paint, oil or varnish it, the surface becomes more resistant.

Frequently asked questions

Is the robot already painted or treated? No, the wood is left natural – neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint it, stick things on it, coat it or oil it however you like.

Where does the brown edge come from? The robot is laser-cut, which creates the typical brown laser edge. It is part of the product and gives a clear, finished outline.

Why don't all the figures look exactly the same? Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That makes every figure unique.

How wide is the robot at a given height? The proportions stay the same. At a height of 10 cm, the figure is 8 cm wide. You can use this to work out the width for other sizes.

Is the robot suitable for outdoor use? Untreated, it is for indoor use. If you want to use it outdoors, paint, oil or varnish the wood first.

A wooden cutout turns into the robot your child proudly puts on the shelf once it's painted. And then shows it to everyone who comes into the room. Just choose your size and quantity. Imagination takes care of the rest.

Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer free repair or free replacement; in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement. Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year.
