Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. An afternoon at the craft table, with brushes and paints at the ready. In your hand is a wooden cutout of mainland Schleswig-Holstein, just waiting to become your design. Wall art, a sign or a map project about the state in the north? The clear outline in poplar plywood is made for your next craft idea. Step by step, the plain outline becomes a painted, lettered or decorated piece in your own style.
What changes for you
- You can start painting, decorating or writing on it right away – because the wood comes untreated in its natural state and takes paint, oil and glue well.
- Your design looks clean and crisp from the start. That's thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges with the typical brown rim, which outlines the shape nicely.
- You'll find the right size for every project. From a small place marker to large wall art, choose from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You won't need to saw or tidy up the edges. The outline arrives precisely cut, so you can focus fully on decorating.
- You can plan bigger events with ease. The cutout comes single or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
Why this wooden cutout makes a difference in everyday life
A ready-cut state outline takes the hardest work off your hands. Instead of sawing and sanding, you simply start decorating. That way, an idea turns into something of your own at your own pace. Maybe a sign for a holiday flat, wall art showing your home town or a map of Germany with all its states. And because the outline is instantly recognisable, everyone can see at a glance what it shows.
Material & finish
The cutout is made from 3 mm poplar plywood, which is light and easy to work with. The outline is laser-cut. That's why the edges are smooth and have the typical brown rim, which frames the shape finely. The wood is untreated, not varnished or stained. You can cover it, paint it or oil it. As a natural material, it shows varying shades, fine grain patterns and occasional small knots. This isn't a flaw – it's what makes each piece one of a kind. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden cutout
- For the living room: paint the outline in the colours you like and mark your home town. Then hang your own piece of northern Germany on the wall.
- For a map project: collect all the German states one by one and put them together into your own map of Germany. The project grows with every piece.
- As a gift: write a name and date on the outline. A simple piece of wood becomes a keepsake of home, a move or a holiday on the North Sea or Baltic coast.
- In a shop or café: use the outline as a sign or regional label on the counter or shelf. Your customers can see at a glance where the products come from.
- For schools and craft groups: with a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, everyone gets their own state. And you're ready to start without any cutting.
Good to know about Schleswig-Holstein
Schleswig-Holstein is often called the “land between the seas”. It's the only German state on both the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. That's why the outline suits maritime decorations, holiday keepsakes and anything to do with the coast, home and the north.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated wood in a dry place and it will keep its shape and look good for a long time. If you paint, oil or stain the cutout, you give the surface extra protection. You also get exactly the shade that suits your project.

Frequently asked questions
Is the wood treated? No, the cutout is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. It's ideal for painting, covering or oiling yourself.
Why do the edges have a brown rim? The outline is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim that clearly frames the shape, and the edges stay smooth.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is always exactly the same, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, it shows varying shades, grain patterns and small knots. Each piece is one of a kind.
How wide is the cutout? As a guide: if you choose a height of 10 cm, the width is also 10 cm.
Can I order larger quantities? Yes. As well as single pieces, there are sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces. They're handy for craft groups, schools or shop decorations, for example.
What counts is the moment your finished Schleswig-Holstein hangs on the wall and you think: I made that myself. Just choose your size and quantity – and get started.
