Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is set. Paints and brushes are ready. All you need now is the right base shape. A wooden one-sixth circle is made for this. This cutout is shaped like a slice of cake and gives your idea a clear outline. You can paint it or stick things on it. Or you can put it together with other sixths to make a full circle. That way a simple wooden cutout becomes exactly the piece your project was missing.
What changes for you
- Start painting, sticking or writing straight away – the wood is untreated and takes paint, glue and oil well.
- Your projects look neat and even. That's thanks to the smooth laser-cut edges with their typical brown rim.
- You get exactly the size you need. The edge length can be chosen from 3 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can make learning materials, display boards or your own charts without any cutting. Six sixths fit together exactly to form a full circle.
- When crafting with children, you have a light shape that's easy to handle. That's thanks to the thin material, just 3 mm thick.
Why this wooden one-sixth circle makes a difference every day
With a ready-made base shape, you skip measuring, marking and sawing. You get straight to the fun part of your project. Making Christmas decorations, creating money gifts or preparing learning materials for school? The clear cake-slice shape gives your idea structure. It also looks warm and natural. With just a few steps you create something that looks handmade, in the best sense.
Material & finish
The one-sixth circle is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. It comes from our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut leaves the edges smooth and clean. You don't need to sand anything before you start. The wood is left natural. It is not varnished or glazed. It can be lighter or darker, shows its grain and sometimes small knots. That makes every piece one of a kind. This is not a flaw but a feature of real natural material.

How to use the one-sixth circle
- Crafting with children: each child paints one sixth. At the end, you put them together into a colourful circle that everyone is proud of.
- In the classroom or learning at home: with six pieces you can show fractions in a hands-on way. Sixths suddenly become something you can touch, not just an abstract idea.
- For display boards and homemade charts: label individual segments and show proportions that anyone can understand at a glance.
- As a base for money gifts: decorate the cake slice and stick things on it. It becomes a gift that lasts longer than an envelope.
- For seasonal decorations: paint the cutout red and gold for your homemade Christmas decorations. In spring, simply give it a new design.
- In a café or at the shop counter: labelled segments draw attention to special offers. They're quick to set up and can be rearranged at any time.
Good to know about the one-sixth circle
A one-sixth circle covers exactly 60 degrees. That's why six pieces form a complete circle without gaps. This makes the shape popular for learning materials and charts. You can lay out, turn and rearrange proportions instead of just drawing them.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do. Keep the unfinished wood dry and avoid constant moisture. Then it keeps its shape and stays a reliable base for your projects for a long time. If you oil or paint it, you give the surface extra protection and decide the look yourself.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the one-sixth circle or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is unfinished. You can paint it, stick things on it, varnish it or oil it, just as you like.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. At the same time, the laser cut gives smooth, clean edges.
Can several pieces be put together to form a full circle? Yes. Six one-sixth circles of the same size make a complete circle. This is useful for learning materials or charts, for example.
Do all pieces look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it varies in shade. It may show small knots or unusual features in the grain. Every piece is one of a kind.
A piece of plywood is only the start. What matters is the moment a simple shape becomes your idea: painted, decorated, put together. Simply choose your edge length and the quantity you need, and get started.
