Why this wooden snowboarder makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made decorations often look generic. A motif you've designed yourself tells your own story. The snowboarder brings movement and a winter mood to windows, tables and shelves. Thanks to the light natural wood, it looks calm rather than loud. And when children join in, what ends up on display isn't just any decoration. It's their own little work of art.
Material & finish
The snowboarder is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives it the typical brown edge, which nicely outlines the silhouette. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. The shape sits well in your hand and is ready to work with straight away. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils stick directly to the natural surface. As a natural material, every piece is unique. Varying shades, fine grain patterns and small knots are part of the wood's character. They are not defects.

How to use the snowboarder
- Christmas crafts with children: each child paints their own snowboarder. Afterwards, a whole ski slope of one-offs hangs in the window.
- On the winter table: small snowboarders as table scatter between candles and fir sprigs. Your table speaks of winter before the first course arrives.
- As a personal gift idea: a painted snowboarder tied to the gift ribbon. The winter sports fan among your friends will know straight away that you thought of them.
- Making an advent calendar: use the motif as a tag on the little bags. Your calendar gets a consistent winter theme.
- In a shop or café: several snowboarders in the window and counter display. With the sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can decorate large areas quickly and uniformly.
Good to know about the snowboarder
Snowboarding has been an Olympic discipline since the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. Since then, few motifs have stood for modern winter sports quite like it. That's why the silhouette suits classic Christmas decorations as well as ski holiday memories and club parties. It also makes a small gift for anyone who heads to the slopes in winter.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store it in a dry place and simply dust it when needed. As the wood is untreated, avoid constant moisture. That way, the cutout keeps its light, natural look for a long time. If you'd like extra protection, you can varnish or oil the motif after decorating it.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint and decorate the snowboarder? Yes. The wood is untreated and natural. Paints, glues and oils stick directly to the surface, so a primer isn't strictly necessary.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The snowboarder is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, which outlines the shape. The edges are smooth and don't need any finishing.
Does every piece look the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, poplar plywood shows varying shades, fine grain patterns and occasionally small knots. That's what makes every piece unique.
Which size works for table scatter, and which for the window? For table scatter, small heights from 5 cm work well. For window decorations, choose larger sizes. As a guide: at 10 cm high, the snowboarder is 8 cm wide.
What you're really getting is more than a wooden cutout. It's the afternoon when paints, little hands and a small snowboarder turn into your own winter decorations. Simply choose your size and quantity – and off you go.
