Why this wooden snowboarder makes a difference in everyday life
Winter decorations made from natural materials look calmer and warmer than shiny plastic items. The clear silhouette instantly tells a little story of a day on the slopes – on the window, on a gift or on the festive table. And because you design the motif yourself, it ends up suiting your home, not everyone else's.
Material & finish
The snowboarder is laser-cut from 3 mm untreated poplar plywood and made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Laser cutting leaves smooth edges with the typical brown rim. This gives the motif a finely drawn outline, with no finishing work needed. The wood is neither varnished nor stained. So you can paint it, oil it or stick things on as you like. As a purely natural material, it shows varying shades, small knots and a lively grain. That's not a flaw – it's what makes each piece one of a kind.

How to use the snowboarder
- Christmas crafts with children: Each child paints their own snowboarder – and in the end a whole colourful gang of boarders hangs in the window.
- As a gift tag: Write a name on it and thread a ribbon through – and the parcel for the winter sports fan is personally labelled before it's even unwrapped.
- On the winter table: Put a small motif at every place. Your guests will start chatting about their last ski holiday as soon as they sit down.
- Making an Advent calendar: Use the silhouette as a number tag or decoration on the little bags. It turns 24 bags into a calendar with a winter sports theme.
- On Christmas cards: Stick on a small 5 cm snowboarder – and a flat card becomes a greeting with depth you can feel.
- In cafés, bakeries or at market stalls: Large cutouts up to 50 cm decorate shop windows and counters in the winter season. They're quick to put up and easy to swap each season. Buying them in a set lets you stock up at a good price.
Good to know about the snowboarder
Snowboarding has been an Olympic discipline since the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano. Since then, few motifs have stood for modern winter sports quite like it. That's why the silhouette is spot on if you're looking for winter decorations beyond the classic stars and fir trees. Or if you want to give a keen boarder a little treat.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated cutout in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture. That way the wood keeps its shape and looks good for a long time. Painting or oiling it gives the surface extra protection.

Frequently asked questions
Is the wood treated? No, the cutout is left natural – neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint, decorate, coat or oil it straight away.
Why is the edge brown? The brown edge comes from the laser and is part of the cutting process. It traces the outline neatly and saves you sanding the edges.
Do all cutouts look the same? Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece – and that's exactly what makes each snowboarder one of a kind.
Is the cutout suitable for crafting with children? Yes. The laser-cut edges are smooth, and the motif is easy to paint and decorate with standard craft paints and glue.
You get a piece of plywood – and an afternoon in which a simple silhouette turns into your own little slope hero. Afterwards, your window looks like winter. Simply choose your size and quantity. The rest happens at your craft table.
