Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is set. Paints and brushes are ready. Now all you need is a motif that not everyone has. This Tasmanian devil wooden cutout gives you exactly that: a striking animal silhouette in plywood, made for your next crafting afternoon. Paint it, cover it or use it as finished decoration. You decide what the raw shape becomes.
What changes for you
- You can start painting, covering or oiling straight away. The wood is untreated, so it takes paint, glue and oil directly.
- Your decoration always fits your project, from a small hanging ornament to a large wall motif. You can choose any width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- The edges are pleasant to work with and there is no risk of splinters. The silhouette is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
- Crafting with children, in a club or for a shop window? You'll have enough motifs for everyone. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.
- You're holding a piece of genuine natural material. Every silhouette shows its own grain, so each one is unique.
Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden blank, on the other hand, becomes your very own piece. You design the figure to suit your home, your celebration or your project. In the end, something hangs or stands there that doesn't exist a second time in exactly this form. This matters especially when crafting with children. A simple silhouette turns into a little work of art they can be proud of.
Material & finish
The silhouette is made of 3 mm thick plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives clean contours and the typical, slightly browned edge, which makes the outline stand out. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. This makes it ideal as a base for your own design. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness and grain therefore vary from piece to piece. Small knots are part of it. They make each figure unique rather than spoiling it.

How to use the wooden Tasmanian devil
- Crafting with children: Every child paints their own figure. At the end, they take home a keepsake they designed themselves.
- For themed decorations: At an Australia evening or a themed party, place the silhouettes on the table and buffet. Your guests will have something to talk about straight away.
- As gift decoration: Put a small figure on the parcel or attach it to the ribbon. Your gift looks lovingly prepared before it is even opened.
- In a shop or shop window: With the sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you can create a consistent display in one shape. It's quick to set up, and the size matches your space exactly.
- In nurseries, schools or clubs: Large quantities for decorating and painting, without having to saw anything yourself. The laser does the preparation.
Good to know about the Tasmanian devil
Today, the Tasmanian devil lives only on the Australian island of Tasmania. There it is considered an emblem of the island. This makes the silhouette a great motif for Australia-themed evenings, travel souvenirs or project days at school and nursery. Everyone recognises the animal, yet it doesn't hang on every wall.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. For dust, a dry cloth is enough. As the wood is untreated, keep the figure away from constant moisture. If you want to hang it outdoors, protect it first with paint, oil or varnish. That way it keeps its shape and natural look for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or cover the figure? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint it, cover it, coat it or oil it – just as you like.
Why does the silhouette have a brown edge? The figure is laser-cut. This creates the typical, slightly browned edge. It is part of the process and also gives smooth edges.
How tall is the figure at my chosen width? The proportions always stay the same. For reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 5 cm.
Why do the figures look different? Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. This is exactly what makes every silhouette unique.
Is the figure suitable for outdoor use? The wood is untreated and therefore intended for indoor use at first. With a protective coat of paint, oil or varnish, you can also use it outdoors.
What counts is the moment when a simple plywood silhouette becomes your own little piece of work. Painted, decorated and placed exactly where it brings you joy. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
