Why this Trojan horse makes a difference
A ready-made blank takes care of the hardest part. The motif is cut, the shape is right, and you can focus on decorating. When crafting with children, this leaves more time for colour and imagination. At the end, you have a piece on the table that really looks like Troy. On a shelf or windowsill, the clear silhouette works as decoration on its own. The plywood stays visible and keeps the look calm.
Material & finish
The horse is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. It has the typical brown edge, which gives the outline a fine line. The edges are smooth and cleanly finished. It feels nice in your hand and is ready to use without any sanding. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So it is open to anything: painting, decorating, oiling. As a natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain patterns and the occasional small knot. This is not a flaw. It is what makes each piece unique. The cutout is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

- For a craft afternoon with children: put paints, brushes and a few blanks on the table. Every finished horse goes home with a proud owner.
- As a money gift: stick notes or coins onto the horse. It is a gift with a wink that people will remember.
- As decoration on a shelf or windowsill: oil the natural wood silhouette to bring out the grain. Or paint it in your own style.
- In a shop or at a market: in a window or counter display, the motif tells a little story. At up to 50 cm high, it is easy to see.
Good to know about the Trojan horse
According to legend, the Greeks conquered Troy with a wooden horse. Since Homer's Odyssey, it has been one of the best-known motifs of the ancient world. To this day, it stands for a trick that works from the inside. That is why the cutout suits school projects, themed parties and gifts with a little story behind them.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. The untreated plywood is best kept indoors. Keep it away from constant moisture. If you paint or oil it, you protect the surface and choose the look at the same time.
