It's the last yoga class before the holidays. You'd like to give each participant a small keepsake. Something handmade that fits the practice you share. The dancer yoga pose in wood is a cutout made for moments like this. You can paint it, decorate it and give it away. The plain blank becomes decoration for the studio or your home, or a personal gift.

What changes for you

  • You design the cutout exactly as you like. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things on, coat it or oil it.
  • You'll find the right size for your project. The figure is available from 5 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • Crafting with children or a group? You save on preparation. The sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces give you the right quantity straight away.
  • You get clean outlines with no finishing needed. The laser-cut cutout has smooth edges.
  • You're holding a piece of honest craftsmanship. It's made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day

A wooden yoga figure brings the same calm into the room as the practice itself. Hang it on the wall of your yoga room, stand it on a shelf in the living room or tie it to a gift as a tag. The natural material looks warm and understated. And because you design the blank yourself, every piece shows your own hand rather than a generic shop-bought look.

Material & finish

The dancer is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives the edges the typical brown rim. It also makes the outline of the figure stand out more. The edges are smooth, so you can start crafting straight away without sanding. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That's why it takes paint, glue and oils well. As a natural material, every piece shows its own grain. Variations in shade and small knots are normal and make each cutout one of a kind. They are not a flaw but part of the wood's character.

How to use the yoga pose

  • Crafting with children or in your yoga group: everyone paints their own figure. In the end, a colourful, personal row of dancers hangs on the wall.
  • As a money gift or a small thank-you: decorate the figure and add a ribbon. Your yoga teacher will be pleased with a gift that really suits her.
  • In the yoga studio or class room: combine several sizes for calm wall decoration. It makes your space recognisable with little effort.
  • For decorating cards, gifts or vouchers: simply glue on the small 5 cm version. The card instantly has a clear yoga theme.
  • For decoration projects with serving trays, wreaths or mobiles: at 3 mm thick, the figure is light enough to hang up. It is also sturdy enough to stand up in a frame.

Good to know about the dancer

In Sanskrit, the dancer yoga pose is called Natarajasana. It is named after Nataraja, the “King of Dance”, a traditional depiction of Shiva dancing. The pose stands for balance and grace. That makes it a popular motif for yoga studios and class gifts. It also suits anyone who wants their practice to have a visible place at home.

Care & durability

There isn't much to do. The untreated wood stays looking good for a long time if it is kept dry. Avoid constant moisture and wet conditions. If you paint or oil the figure, you protect the surface further. You also decide on the look at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the figure or glue things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated. You can coat, paint, decorate or oil it. It's ideal for crafting and decorating.

Why do the edges have a brown rim? The figure is laser-cut. The brown rim is typical of this cutting method. It also means the edges are smooth and need no finishing.

Do all the figures look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, every cutout has its own grain, variations in shade and sometimes small knots. Each piece is one of a kind.

How wide is the figure? The width depends on the height you choose. For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 4 cm.

Is the figure suitable for outdoor use? The wood is untreated and should be kept dry. For outdoor use, we recommend a protective coat of paint or oil.

What counts is not the wooden cutout itself. It's the moment someone holds the piece you designed and realises: this was made with me in mind. Just choose your size and quantity – and get started.
