Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. You're at the craft table and the idea is there. A wall clock, a mandala, a learning resource for children. All you need now is the right base shape. That's exactly what this wooden 1/12 circle is made for. It's a twelfth of a circle with a 30° angle, a bit like a slice of cake. Put it together with eleven more and you have a full circle. That way your idea becomes a finished project without any cutting or measuring.
What changes for you
- You start straight away with the creative part instead of sawing. The twelfth circle arrives cleanly laser-cut and true to size.
- You choose the size yourself, from a small hanging tag to a large wall piece. The edge length (radius) goes from 3 to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps.
- Your projects can be as colourful as you like. The wood is untreated, so you can stick things on, paint it, varnish it or oil it.
- You can plan bigger projects with ease, such as making Christmas decorations with the whole family. The cutout comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You put twelve identical pieces together to form a full circle. Ideal for clocks, mandalas or learning resources where every piece has to fit exactly.
Why this twelfth circle makes a difference in everyday use
If you enjoy crafting, you know the difference between a flimsy cardboard template and a shape that's simply right. With a precise wooden base shape, circle projects turn out even and with clean edges. That goes for single pieces and for a full assembled circle. And because you don't spend time cutting, you have more time for the fun part: designing, painting, decorating.
Material & finish
The twelfth circle is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives smooth edges and a clean, even shape, so small hands won't catch on anything. The typical brown edge comes from the laser cutting and is part of how a laser-cut piece looks. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. That's why it takes paint, glue and oil well. As a natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain patterns and sometimes small knots. This makes every piece one of a kind. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the twelfth circle
- Crafting with children: each child paints one twelfth. Together you end up with a complete, colourful circle as a group piece for the wall.
- For a clock you design yourself: twelve segments, twelve hours. Label each piece and you have a clock face like no other.
- As a mandala or wall picture: put the twelfths together in different colours and create a calm pattern in natural wood for your room.
- Making Christmas decorations: decorate small twelfths of 3 or 4 cm. Hang them on the tree or add them to a home-made Christmas card.
- At school, nursery or in a learning group: twelve identical pieces let you show fractions and angles hands-on. Easier to grasp than any worksheet.
- In a shop or café: use labelled segments as price tags or seasonal counter decoration. Natural material, quick to swap and always tidy.
Good to know about the twelfth circle
A twelfth circle has an angle of exactly 30 degrees. That's the same spacing as the hours on a clock face. This is why the shape works so well for home-made clocks and for learning resources about fractions and angles. Twelve identical pieces always make a complete circle.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Just store the untreated wood somewhere dry and keep it away from constant moisture. That way it keeps its shape and light look for a long time. If you want a lasting finish, you can paint, oil or varnish the surface as you like.

Frequently asked questions
Is the wood treated? No, the cutout is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. You can stick things on it, paint it, varnish it or oil it straight away.
Where does the brown edge come from? The twelfth circle is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge along the cut. The edges are smooth.
Do several pieces make a full circle? Yes, twelve identical twelfths with a 30° angle each fit together into a complete circle. Great for clocks, mandalas or learning resources.
Does every piece look the same? The shape is identical, the wood isn't. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain patterns and sometimes small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
Can I order larger quantities? Yes, the cutout comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. Handy for group projects, schools or shop decoration.
A piece of plywood is just the start. The best part is when the last twelfth slides into place and twelve pieces become your very own circle. Just choose your edge length and quantity – and get started.
