Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A word on the wall often says more than a whole shelf of decorations. Think of a name above the cot, a bold slogan in a teenager's room or a sign above the shop counter. With these wooden letters in the Whoa font, you put together your own lettering, character by character. Made for your wall. The relaxed graffiti style of the font brings movement to the word. The wood keeps it calm and natural.
What changes for you
- You create your own text instead of buying ready-made decorations. Each letter is made individually, and you can combine capital letters and special characters freely.
- Your lettering fits your room, not the other way round. Choose from four heights between 5 and 20 cm. From a small word on a shelf to wall lettering that is easy to see.
- Putting the letters up is easy. You can glue them or drill them, depending on what your surface allows.
- You decide on the look. You can leave the untreated poplar wood natural, or cover, paint or oil it to suit your interior.
- Your text stays easy to read, even from a distance. The brown laser-cut edge clearly traces every outline.
Why this wooden lettering makes a difference in everyday life
Lettering you put together yourself turns a blank wall into a place with a message. The playful Whoa font adds a touch of lightness that suits a children's room, a hobby room or a young café. Instead of an interchangeable poster, you hang up a word you chose on purpose. It is made of a material people like to look at and touch. And because you decide on the size and surface, the text fits into your room instead of pushing itself to the front.
Material & finish
The letters are made of 3 mm poplar plywood. They are laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. The outlines are clean, with the typical brown edge along the sides. The wood is untreated and a light, natural beige. You can leave it as it is, or cover, paint or oil it. Slight colour variations in the wood are part of it. It is a natural material, so every character looks a little different.

How to use the wooden letters
- In a child's or teenager's room: The name in graffiti style above the bed or on the bedroom door. The room clearly belongs to your child.
- In the hallway or living room: A “HALLO” or a favourite word on the wall. Guests know as soon as they walk in that someone with their own ideas lives here.
- For a birthday or party: A name or motto as lettering above the gift table. Your guests see straight away what you are celebrating.
- In a shop window or at a market stall: Words and offers as wooden lettering instead of paper signs. Your display looks tidy, even from a few metres away.
- In a café or at a street food stand: Lettering in a relaxed graffiti style above the counter. A young look without much decorating effort. Put it up once and you're done.
Good to know about laser-cut wooden letters
Laser cutting creates the typical brown edge along the cut sides. It looks like a fine, natural outline around each letter. On light walls in particular, this dark outline keeps your lettering clearly readable from a distance. Shop window and shop designers often make use of this effect.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Dusting with a dry cloth now and then is enough. The poplar wood is untreated, so it does not cope well with constant moisture. If you paint or oil the letters, you protect the surface and choose the colour at the same time.
Options & what's included
- Choose from capital letters and special characters in the Whoa font
- Choice of height: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm or 20 cm
- Each character is made and delivered individually
- Important: The height you choose refers to the capital letters. Small special characters such as the full stop are scaled to the font and are therefore much smaller. In Arial, for example, a full stop at a letter height of 10 cm is only about 1.4 cm.
- So for a word or sentence, order all characters in the same size. That way they match.
Frequently asked questions
Can I colour the letters? Yes. The poplar wood is untreated and can be covered, painted or oiled. You decide on the look.
How do I attach the lettering? You can glue or drill the letters. It depends on whether they go on a wall, in a shop window or on a sign.
Why are some special characters smaller than the chosen height? Small characters such as the full stop are made to the same scale as in the font. That's why they are much smaller than the capital letters. Order all characters of a text in the same size, and they will match.
Where does the brown edge come from? It is created during laser cutting and is typical of laser-cut wooden letters. It forms a fine outline that makes the lettering easy to read.
Do I receive a finished word or individual letters? Each letter and each special character is supplied individually. So you can put together the text you want and decide on the spacing yourself.
Plywood and fonts are only the starting point. What counts is the moment you step back, read your word on the wall and realise: that's exactly what you wanted to say. Simply choose your characters and the right size. You put together the rest yourself.
