The letters are laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. They are made in our own production in Pößneck. Laser cutting leaves the typical brown edge. They make every piece one of a kind.

Bebas is a sans serif, condensed font. It is especially popular for headlines and posters. Its clear, tall letter shapes make it very easy to read as wooden lettering. That works even from a distance, for example in a shop window or above the counter.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Indoors, the untreated letters stay looking good for a long time. An occasional dusting is enough. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the characters outdoors or in damp rooms, paint or oil them first. This gives the wood extra protection.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add colour to the letters? Yes. The poplar wood is untreated. You can cover, paint or oil it to suit your interior style.

How do I fix the lettering? You can glue the characters or drill them. At 3 mm thick, they hold with mounting adhesive as well as with small screws.

Why do the letters have a brown edge? The edge is created during laser cutting and is typical of this process. It frames the characters subtly. It is part of what makes laser-cut wooden letters look the way they do.

Are lower-case letters available too? No. In the Bebas font, you can choose from capital letters, numbers and special characters.

Why are the full stop and comma so small? Small special characters are made to the scale of the font. That's why they are much smaller than the letter height you choose. Order all characters for a text in the same size, and everything will match.
