Material & finish

The letters are laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood in our own production in Pößneck, with clean, precise outlines. The wood comes in its natural state, so it is untreated. The light surface is well suited to painting and gluing things on. The brown laser edge contrasts with it. As wood is a natural product, each letter may vary slightly in shade and grain. This is not a flaw – it makes every piece one of a kind.

Care & durability

Frequently asked questions

Why are the lower-case letters shorter than the size I chose? The selected height refers to the capital letters. Lower-case letters are made to the same scale, just as they are designed in the font. A lower-case a or h is therefore slightly shorter. Letters such as a lower-case g also reach below the baseline.

Which size should I order for a whole word? Order all the letters of a word in the same size – even if it starts with a capital letter. That way, the upper and lower case letters match exactly.

Can I paint the letters or glue things onto them? Yes. The wood is untreated. The light surface takes paint, oil, varnish and glue well. They are also suitable for crafting with children.

How do I attach the letters? You can glue them or drill them. With 3 mm poplar plywood, both are easy.

Where does the brown rim on the edges come from? It is created during laser cutting and is part of the process. It neatly frames each letter. It is not a defect but typical of laser-cut wooden letters.
