A name on the nursery door, a saying above the sofa or a sign on the shop counter: with wooden letters in the clear Arial font, you put together your own lettering. Letter by letter, made for your wall. You choose capital and lower-case letters freely. Single characters become your very own text in wood.

What changes for you

  • You create exactly the text that suits you. You choose each letter individually as a capital or lower-case letter.
  • Your lettering stays easy to read, even from a few metres away. That is thanks to the clear, sans-serif Arial font.
  • You can paint, decorate or oil the letters in your own style. The poplar plywood comes unfinished, in its natural state.
  • You can fix the letters to a wall, door or furniture with little effort. Glue them or drill them – both work.
  • You get clean outlines with a distinctive edge. Each letter is laser-cut and has the typical brown edge.

Why these wooden letters make a difference in everyday life

Wooden lettering looks calmer and warmer than a printed sign. It turns a blank wall into a place that tells your story. The light beige natural tone of the poplar wood suits almost any interior. It contrasts subtly with the laser-cut edge. Whether it’s a name, a date or a favourite word: you look at it and it feels like you.

Material & finish

The letters are made from 3 mm poplar plywood and laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. That is where the clean edges and the typical brown edge come from. The wood is left natural and takes paint, glue or oil well. Wood is a natural material, so every letter turns out a little different. Brightness, grain and small knots vary. This makes each piece one of a kind and is not a defect.

Dimensions & technical details

  • Material: poplar plywood, untreated
  • Material thickness: 3 mm
  • Font: Arial, capital and lower-case letters available
  • Choice of height: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm or 20 cm
  • Colour: light beige natural tone with a laser-cut brown edge
  • Each letter is supplied individually
  • Important: the height you choose applies to the capital letters. Lower-case letters are made to the same scale as in the font. That is why they are not as tall as the size you choose.
  • Example at 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm high, the lower-case a 7.3 cm and the lower-case h 9.7 cm. The lower-case g is 10 cm high but reaches about 2.6 cm below the baseline.
  • For one word, order all letters in the same size, even if it starts with a capital letter. That way the capital and lower-case letters match.

How to use the wooden letters

  • On the nursery door: your child’s name painted in bright colours. The room gets a door sign no other child has.
  • For a wedding: the couple’s names or a “Thank you” on the gift table. The decoration looks lovingly prepared rather than bought.
  • At a craft afternoon: you give each child their first initial to paint. At the end, every child takes home a small piece of their own.
  • In a café or at a market stall: a word like “Coffee” or “Local” above the counter. It is easy to read thanks to the clear font. It goes up quickly with glue or screws.
  • As wall decoration: your favourite word left natural above the shelf. The light wood tone brings calm to the wall without standing out too much.

Good to know about the Arial font

Arial was designed for Monotype in 1982. It is one of the best-known sans-serif fonts. It is clear, plain and easy to read even from a distance. That is why it works well for name signs, labels and lettering that should be understood at first glance.

Care & durability

There’s not much you need to do. The wood is unfinished, so an occasional dry dusting is enough. Protect the letters from constant moisture. Or treat them with paint or oil, and they will keep their shape and look for a long time.

Options & what's included

  • Heights to choose from: 5 cm, 10 cm, 15 cm and 20 cm
  • Capital and lower-case letters can be chosen individually – each letter is supplied separately
  • You'll find wooden numbers and special characters in our other products

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the letters? Yes. The poplar plywood is unfinished. You can paint it, oil it, glue things to it or design it as you like.

Why are the lower-case letters shorter than the size I chose? The height you choose refers to the capital letters. Lower-case letters follow the scale of the font, so they are a little smaller. Order all letters for one word in the same size, and they will match.

How do I fix the letters? You can glue them or drill them. That way you can fix them to a wall, door or furniture.

Where does the brown edge come from? The letters are laser-cut. The brown edge forms during cutting and is part of the typical look.

Does every letter look the same? Wood is a natural material. Brightness and grain vary slightly, and small knots are normal. This makes every letter one of a kind.

Plywood and font sizes are only the technical side. What counts is the moment your own lettering hangs on the wall. Suddenly the room carries your signature. Just choose your size and put together your text.

Your legal guarantee rights

EU notice “Legal guarantee”: Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union. Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods do not match the description or do not function as intended. Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer free repair or free replacement; in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement. Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year. For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code or ask the seller: europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees. What to do if you receive non-conforming goods: 1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue. 2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement. Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
