Wooden letters BHeart – letters made of wood, 5–20 cm

A name sign on the nursery door, a saying above the kitchen bench or the baby's name on a christening gift. Sometimes all that's missing is the right lettering to turn an idea into something of your own. With wooden letters in the BHeart font, you put together your own text letter by letter. Just right for your idea. You choose upper and lower case letters and the right size. The rest you design the way you like.

Material & finish

The letters are made of 3 mm poplar plywood and are laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. Laser cutting gives clean outlines, even on the fine curves of the BHeart font. It leaves the typical brown edge along the sides. The wood is untreated and in its natural state. You can decorate, paint or oil it. As a natural material, every piece shows its own grain and slight variations in colour. This is not a flaw. It is what sets wood apart from plastic.

Good to know about poplar plywood

Poplar is one of the lightest native woods and has a fine, even surface. That is exactly why it works so well for painting and decorating. Paint covers evenly. Even larger lettering can be put up on a wall or door without heavy fixings.

Care & durability

There isn't much to do. The untreated wood needs no special care. If needed, just wipe it with a dry cloth. Avoid long-term moisture. Or protect the letters with paint, varnish or oil if they need to withstand more. This keeps your lettering looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the lower case letters shorter than the chosen size? The chosen height refers to the capital letters. Lower case letters are made to the same scale as they are set in the font. Example from the Arial font at 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm high, the small a is 7.3 cm and the small h is 9.7 cm. The small g measures 10 cm but reaches about 2.6 cm below the baseline. In script fonts, lower case letters are often a little smaller still.

Can I paint or decorate the letters? Yes. The poplar wood is untreated and in its natural state. You can paint it, oil it, glue things on or use it as it is.

Where does the brown edge come from? The letters are laser-cut. The brown edge forms during laser cutting and is typical of this process.

How do I attach the letters? You can glue or drill them. With a thickness of just 3 mm and light poplar wood, a little craft glue is usually enough.

Do I get a whole word or individual letters? Each letter is made and ordered individually. This lets you freely put together your own text.

What really counts is not plywood or fonts. It is the moment your child discovers their name on the door or your favourite word hangs on the wall. Something homemade stays. Simply choose your letters and the right size.
