It also leaves the typical brown cut edge that shows the letters were laser-cut. The wood is left natural. Unpainted, the light shade suits wall decorations, door signs or personalised gifts. It is also a good base for your own colours.

Frequently asked questions

Why are the lower case letters shorter than the chosen size? The chosen height applies to the capital letters. Lower case letters are made to the same scale as they are designed in the font. Here is an example in the Arial font at 10 cm: the capital O is 10 cm high, the small a is 7.3 cm and the small h is 9.7 cm. The small g is 10 cm high but reaches about 2.6 cm below the baseline. In script fonts, the lower case letters are often a little smaller still.

Can I paint the letters? Yes. The wood is untreated and can be covered, painted or oiled. Its light shade is a good base for this.

Where does the brown edge come from? The letters are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown cut edge, which is part of how laser-cut letters look.

How do I attach the letters? You can glue or drill them. The 3 mm poplar plywood is light, so simple adhesive dots are enough to hold them.
